As many of you may be aware, Wikia has "updated" the search functionality of the entire Wikia community. A lot of users have voiced issues with this "new" search. Well, I have a fix for it, thanks to one of the commenters over on Central Wiki. This is for your personal use only for the moment. I wish I could make it live for the entire wiki, but alas, Wikia does not allow such things, so I will provide you the code here.
The Code[]
The code is below

What it does is provide you with two buttons. A 'Go' button - signified by an arrow - which takes you directly to the article/redirect you put in the search bar. It also provides you a 'Search' button, which will take you to the search results page if you intend to search for a term. This button is signified as a magnifying glass.
How to use the Code[]
To utilize the code, follow the steps below;
- Create the following page User:[Your username]/wikia.js (MAKE SURE THE 'w' IN WIKIA IS LOWERCASE!)
- Copy the code above into the edit section.
- Save the page.
You may need to clear your browser's cache to see the change. Instructions for how to do that will automatically appear on your new page once you save it. After you do that, refresh (if it doesn't do that for you), and you will have your new buttons. If this doesn't work for you, your browser may not support the code. The code has worked for me in Chrome, though.

Well, I'm not sure about you guys, but I am strongly against this change to Wikia. It breaks a feature that wasn't broken. Regardless of how I feel, let Wikia Central know how you feel on the blog I linked at the beginning of this post. Your feedback is important to make sure our voices are heard.
