The Collapse (崩壊, Hōkai) was a catastrophic event in the works of Kenji-Taichō and his writing partners. The event was carried out in secret by Kurokawa Kōhai and Shiawase Kōhai. Following in the footsteps of his creator, Oda Kōhai, Kurokawa, through means and methods currently unknown, rammed the Soul Society, Horiwari, Heisekai and Kōhai Tochi together to form a new dimensional plane. This new spiritual realm would then be referred to as the Reikai (霊界, Spirit Kingdom), though its creation killed countless and left the Spirit Cycle of Souls terribly close to spiralling out of control. This event was known to have also occurred in the world where an alternate version of Kentaro Hiroshi hailed from, which was followed shortly after by an invasion of Arrancar led by Averian.
