Powers and Abilities
Zanpakutō
Sōgoginryu (雙児銀龍, Twin Silver Dragons): In its sealed form, it is a nodachi, which Taira wears across his back, with the tsuka over his left shoulder. Its tsuka and saya are intricately decorated with tessellated white flowers and black thorns. Its ito and sageo are scarlet, and its tsuba is a heptagram.
Shikai: Upon release, it takes the form of two kunai, bound together by a silver chain, the length of which can be manipulated at Taira's will. This allows him to use one as a throwing weapon while holding on to the other. Taira is ambidextrous, allowing him to use them equally well with either hand. He can easily wield them over- or under-handed as the situation requires. In a pinch, they can also serve as climbing pitons or a grappling hook.
Bankai: Akataiyō Ryū'ō (紅太陽 龍王, Crimson Sun Dragon King)
