This article, Spiritual Roads, is the property of Another Poetic Spartan |
The Spiritual Roads were originally created by the Lesser Tenjin known as The Balancer in order to establish stable pathways between the Amenokai and the Lower Plane since nothing of the sort previously existed. These Spiritual Roads ultimately allowed for travel between the two Planes, although travel between them was generally reserved for the residents of the Amenokai.
Overview[]
Following the violent events of The Collapse, the Spiritual Roads connecting the newly formed Reikai (Lower Plane) to the Amenokai were partially severed by The One in an effort to protect Tougenkyou from the after effects of the Reikai's tumultuous creation since Tougenkyou possessed direct connections to Soul Society, Horiwari, and Heisekai. In addition, the Spiritual Roads connecting the World of the Living and the Dangai Precipice World to the Amenokai were sealed by The One. There was only one known Spiritual Road left following The Collapse that linked the World of the Living and the newly-created Reikai, and this Road was located in Grat, which was the spirit-enriched plot. Whether other roads existed was unknown, though the Royal Guard was rumoured to be working on a solution.

Trivia[]
- The severing and sealing of the Spiritual Roads can create a communication blackout between the Amenokai and the Lower Planes as it served as the connection between them. This largely explains Itazura Kori's inability to sense Tomoko Saitou through his bond and Kiyoko's inability to communicate with Kei Yume, and her three children through the Densoumamori.
- Due to her Tenjin descent and with aid from Kiyoko Takara, Yuu Hoshiko was able to momentarily rebuild the Spiritual Road between Tougenkyou and the newly formed Reikai in order to allow Itazura Kori, Mariko Kori, Kentaro Shiba and Kaien Shiba to leave. Kenji Hiroshi was known to be capable of something similar through usage of Sasaeru.
- A phenomenon referred to as the "Lanes Between" where utilized by Bansui Amatsuki and Anko Amatsuki to hide from the Soul Society. These "Lanes" where entered via the Spiritual Worlds but where difficult to locate.
Behind the Scenes[]
- The Spiritual Roads was partially inspired by the Webway from the tabletop miniature wargame and science-fantasy series, Warhammer 40,000 and Snake Way from manga series, Dragon Ball and its sequel, Dragon Ball Z.
