The Sixth Division (六番隊, Rokubantai) is a division of the Gotei 13 and is lead by Byakuya Kuchiki.
Organization
The Sixth Division follows the traditional organization of a Gotei 13 division.
Special Duties
While no special duties have been noted for the Sixth Division, they are regarded as role models for the entirety of the Gotei 13 to follow in terms of their dedication to protect Soul Society and its peace. In addition, following Byakuya's acquisition of the position of overseeing the Captain Proficiency Test, they have the unofficial role of teaching new recruits — Captains or not — about the rules and regulations of the Gotei 13 and why they should be upheld.
Barracks

Like all the other barracks, the 6th Division Barracks house the offices and living quarters of the Shinigami of the 6th. Byakuya's office is notable for having shelves of books lining its walls.

Recruitment
Members of the 6th Division are encouraged to always use proper honorifics when greeting each other as a mutual sign of respect and as the first foundation of a relationship. The squad's rules are strictly enforced, with those breaking them being promptly punished.

Shinigami Women's Association Aptitude Test
According to the Shinigami Women's Association aptitude test, the Sixth Division was rated as the "number one most humourless division in the Gotei 13." For those prone to outbursts of laughter or given to making jokes and tasteless puns, it is not recommended that you join this division.
