Siegfried Adler, known by his former Soldat companions as The Wolfbrother, is a Gemischt Quincy with a notable Presas lineage, with Ylva, a former Alpha, and Ragna Garmr, the former Grand Alpha, as his most prominent ancestors. Despite his life as an outcast amongst his Quincy kin, he eventually joined and followed Yhwach. He survived the Blood War waged between the Soul Society and Wandenreich, and followed his fellow Quincy when the Wandenreich remnants settled in Hueco Mundo and entered into an uneasy peace with the Tres Pilares. After surviving an encounter with the ancient Arrancar Averian, Siegfried left the Wandenreich, opting to fulfill Gengetsu's final wishes and deliver his vials to his family. As such, he became a ward of House Tepes, one of the Great Houses of the Reikon Kyuuban. Additionally, he came into contact with Akira Hiroshi, another ward of House Tepes, and became an affiliate of the young Visored's Ryū Order.
Appearance[]
Siegfried is a muscled young man of average height, sports slicked back silvery-coloured hair, and distinct yellow eyes. He initially wore the standard uniform of the Wandenreich, which consisted of a white double-breasted trench coat, white trousers, and stout black boots.[1] After becoming a ward of House Tepes, Siegfried adopted the members habit of wearing high-fashion. This includes designer dress shirts, black suit trousers, and expensive suits. As is the case with Vlad and Zaleska, and as was the case with Gengetsu, their choice of attire is common amongst the Elders, most of whom Katsumi described as "patrons of the arts".[2] When he transforms into his Lōcuria state, Siegfried's muscle mass increases, and he transitions into a human-beast hybrid. Hikari Raiotto described him as looking like a werewolf.[3]
Personality[]
As a young man, Siegfried was wild and unruly. As a descendant of Ylva, whom Vlad described as a "very old, very hated name", Siegfried was largely ostracized by both sides of his heritage: the Quincy saw him as impure, whilst the loyal Presas were aware of his lineage, which stemmed from a controversial figure,[4] one who betrayed the Reikon Kyuuban during the Reikon Kyuuban-Shinigami War.[5] His own nature as a Presas descendant allowed him to communicate with beasts of all kinds, and he became known somewhat amongst the Elders of the Reikon Kyuuban. Vlad, for instance, remarked that "beings with animal-like powers stalk the far-flung corners of the world and run in the wild", showing individuals such as Siegfried weren't as rare as one might think.[6]
By adulthood, Siegfried thankfully became calm and composed, with a complex code of honour and ethics. Whether intentionally or coincidentally, he developed a similar mindset to that of the Reikon Kyuuban and the original Presas, for he is an immortal. As such, he tends to have more of a long-term outlook than his contemporaries.[4] This trait has also instilled in him a considerable degree of patience. As a member of the Wandenreich, he took the time to compile information on targets of interest to the Wandenreich, including the remnants that fled to Hueco Mundo. Targets of his information gathering included Averian and the Tres Pilares.[3] When Gengetsu died facing Averian, rather than abandon the latter's request to deliver his blood vials to Vlad or Zaleska, Siegfried abandoned his comrades in the Wandenreich, and travelled to Naruki City, showing a high degree of reliability and honour. This resulted in him becoming a ward of House Tepes and earning Vlad's favour.[7]
Uniquely, Siegfried held little animosity to the Reikon Kyuuban, demonstrating a mindset very different to the likes of Bloodhounds. Whilst he considered himself a Katsumi Scarlet loyalist like them, he allied himself with House Tepes, a House loyal to Myst Kagekyo.[7] Additionally, Siegfried showed an attraction to Kismet, who was one of Vlad's warriors, which was seemingly reciprocated.[4]
Lōcuria[]
Under the influence of his Lōcuria form, however, Siegfried's personality undergoes a radical shift, with him becoming more vicious and animalistic. This was akin to what he was like as a younger man, for he ran wild with the beasts of the world.[6] Once transformed, he tore through Hollow hide with his claws, attempted to rip Averian's throat out in a vicious surprise attack, and was shown to growl and snarl at his opposition.[3] Siegfried himself has put this down to instinct overcoming reason, which is a trait a Presas usually experiences upon entering their Vociferante state.[8] When he broke the news to Vlad that his son had died, and Vlad's anger led his reiatsu to leak out and nearly pin Siegfried to the floor, he instinctively assumed his Lōcuria form through pure instinct as a defensive measure. In this instance, however, he retained enough of his patience and reason to realize that a battle would result in his own demise.[4]
History[]
Siegfried is something of a unique case. Through his father, he is of Quincy blood, yet through his mother, he can trace a descent from the Presas, with a bloodline pure enough in the latter to have rendered him immortal. Siegfried can trace his descent from Ylva who, in Vlad's words, is a "very old, very hated name".[4] Furthermore, it was the Grand Alpha, Ragna Garmr, who fathered Ylva's children, a fact unknown to all in the modern age save Ylva herself, for anyone with the knowledge died during the Presas Rift.[9]
His racial standing made him an outcast amongst both tribes, his impurity marking him amongst the Quincy. As such, he spent his youth living amongst animals, his Presas abilities allowing him to communicate with beasts of all kinds easily, and he was known to some Elders of the Reikon Kyuuban as a being who ran the far-flung corners of the world with beasts as his companions.[6]
As evidenced by his acquisition of Blut, which requires training for one to use if they are not of pure blood, Siegfried undergone advanced Seiren training.[10] When, where, and even who taught him are unknown. Upon witnessing his abilities for himself, Vlad speculated that most of Siegfried's abilities may actually have been honed instinctively in the wild. At an unknown time, and under unknown circumstances, Siegfried became a member of the Wandenreich under Yhwach. He was one of the individuals who helped gather the extensive information that comprised the Daten archive.[3]

Equipment[]
- Soul-made materials: The Quincy use various materials made using specialized arts, referred to as being "soul-made" (霊化, Reika lit. spiritualization). This includes soul-made glass and soul-made silver, amongst others, and is commonly used in the construction of buildings.[11] Furthermore, it can be applied to things as simple as pens and paper, and this is exactly what Siegfried used the technique for when compiling his personal Daten archive.[3]
- Sanrei Glove: Siegfried has a personal Sanrei Glove, made after he became a ward of House Tepes, using soul-made cloth.[7] Like the version used by the Wandenreich and its remnants, this Sanrei Glove serves as the activation device for Siegfried's ultimate technique.[12] Rather than a glove, it takes the form of a large wristband, which extends from the wrist to just below his elbow.
- Daten: The mass of information kept by the Wandenreich against opposition forces.[13] Although outdated, the information on those in possession of Bankai is still valuable,[14] for many of the Captains the information pertained to were still members of the Gotei 13.[15] Siegfried has begun compiling information on the numerous powerful individuals in Hueco Mundo, namely the Tres Pilares, as well as Averian.[3]
Powers and Abilities[]
Natural[]
High Spiritual Energy: Siegfried possesses heightened levels of spiritual energy.[3] In response to particularly large sources of reiatsu, such as that possessed by Vlad, Siegfried assumes his Lōcuria state seemingly through pure instinct. Even without transforming, he was confident in his ability to defeat Kismet, one of the trusted warriors loyal to House Tepes.[4]
Swordsmanship: Siegfried initially wielded a sword as his favoured Spirit Weapon.[3]
Hakuda Expertise: Even before shifting from a sword to claws as his preferred Spirit Weapon, Siegfried is skilled in hand-to-hand combat, a skill reinforced by his various Presas traits.[16] He was capable of quickly closing on Averian to strike at his throat, could slash through Hollow hide with ease, and proved to be highly athletic.[3]
Quincy lineage[]
Reishi Manipulation: Like any Quincy Siegfried absorbs ambient reishi from the atmosphere to form his various weaponry,[17] and has an easier time achieving this when in reishi-rich locales such as Soul Society or Hueco Mundo.[18] Due to his lineage, Siegfried has demonstrated certain uses of reishi that is considered to be rare amongst his fellow Quincy.[19]

Siegfried's claws.
- Reishi claws: In the past, Siegfried preferred the use of a double-bladed katana-like Spirit Weapon with a hollow interior.[3] After his initial battle with Averian, however, he opted instead for reishi claws, appearing as solid extensions of his hand, for use in conjunction with his Lōcuria state to add further penetrative power to his strikes, all so that he could punch through fortified Hierro.[16]
- Heilig Pfeil -- the primary means of attack for any Quincy.[20] Following his transition from sword to claws, Siegfried's use of Heilig Pfeil changed as well. Rather than fire arrows of reishi, he instead fires volleys of razor-like darts, similar to nails, from his fingertips.
- Tsumeshasen -- the primary means of ranged combat preferred by natural Presas. The force of their slashing motion, combined with a form of reishi manipulation, allowed for a Presas to weaponize their slash attack and produce claw-shaped blades for attacking prey at range.[16] Personally, Siegfried applied his Quincy abilities to the technique, for he could not produce it naturally, whilst adapting the technique through information gleamed from his personal Daten archive. Specifically, Siegfried adapted Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez's Desgarrón technique.
- Hirenkyaku: As a Quincy, Siegfried employs Hirenkyaku as his preferred and dominant means of high-speed movement, which allows him to ride a flow of reishi to his desired location.[21] He showed the requisite skill to create platforms using Hirenkyaku.[3]
- Shadow: A teleportation skill used by members of the Wandenreich.[22] Additionally, the user's reiatsu vanishes from the area completely upon use,[23] to the point that even Gundinger Drelairn with his developed Pesquisa could only determine that Siegfried had fought Averian, but he could not determine where he had gone following the battle.[4]
- Kirchenlied: Kirhenlied was the name given to a series of spells practised by the Quincy of old, which were passed down from ancient times amongst certain familial lines.[19]

Siegfried firing Sankt Licht.
- Sankt Licht -- an offensive Kirchenlied spell, touted as the "light of the Lord", which boasts the power to erase objects from existence.[24] Visually, Sankt Licht appears akin to a pure white-coloured Cero, its appearance speculated to be from Humans attempting to mimic Hollows to grow stronger. Due to this mimicry, it has a similar structure and composition to Cero, and is virtually identical to that which is used by Menos-class Hollows, Arrancar, and the Visored, with virtually no difference between practitioners.[25]
- Blut: Blut is an advanced Quincy technique which allows the Quincy employing it to demonstrate superhuman attacking or defensive strength. The one downside of the technique is that both forms use different reishi systems, and thus cannot be used simultaneously.[26] This weakness almost proved Siegfried's undoing, for when he struck Averian in close-quarters using Blut Arterie, he lacked the defensive strength to weather his counterstroke.[3] Due to his Presas lineage, which marks him as impure, Siegfried had to train in order to utilize Blut.[27]
- Blut Vene: the defensive variation of Blut. Blut Vene is only visible when the afflicted area, such as an arm, is struck.[28] Coupled with his natural physicality, Siegfried is capable of shrugging off wounds that would prove fatal to an average Quincy.[16] He was confident that he could have withstood the punch from Averian that almost killed him had he had Blut Vene active at the time.[3]
- Blut Arterie: the offensive variation of Blut. According to Quincy lore, this is the sole technique capable of causing significant damage to a Bankai-wielding Shinigami.[29] Coupled with his natural physicality, Siegfried is capable of surprising feats of superhuman strength.[16] Despite the boost, he still lacked the penetrative power to nullify Averian's Hierro, but remained confident that he could, should he have time to adjust to its density.[3]
Presas lineage[]
Although his Presas lineage is quite diluted, to the point he can't invoke the Vociferante state, Siegfried still has a multitude of powers and enhancements stemming from his bloodline. Additionally, he is immortal.[16]
- Enhanced Physicality: Stemming from his Presas lineage, Siegfried sports enhanced musculature, resulting in heightened strength, speed, durability, and endurance. Whilst not as impressive as a full-fledged Presas, Siegfried's physical abilities are considered beyond the norm.[16]
- Enhanced Senses: Even by the standards of the Quincy, Siegfried has heightened senses stemming from his Presas lineage. This works in tandem with his spiritual senses, and is expressed mostly as a sixth sense of sorts relating to incoming danger, aiding his reaction speeds.[16]
- Caza: The Presas, tapping into their animalistic instincts, make for every effective trackers. Using Caza, they can differentiate between scents, like that of a bloodhound.[16] Siegfried, having already spied on and become familiar with the Tres Pilares, was able to track them, even across large distances. He was the first to sense that they had collectively moved to intercept Averian.[3]
- Lúavista: The Presas are a race intimately linked to the Reikon Kyuuban. They possess an ability similar to Reiraku, expressed through their eyes and requiring little concentration, which allows them to visually detect Reikon Kyuuban reiatsu.[16] Whilst his diluted bloodline has hampered some of his abilities, Siegfried's use of this particular trait, which he refers to as "the vision of the Children of the Moon", is quite developed even by the standards of a full-fledged Presas. He can see Reikon Kyuuban reiatsu in various shades of purple, the darker the colouration equating to higher degrees of strength. Vlad's reiatsu was so dark to Siegfried's eyes that it may as well have been the darkest black.[4]

Siegfried's Lōcuria state.
- Lōcuria -- the most noteworthy manifestation of Siegfried's diluted bloodline, and his strongest Presas ability, bar none. This technique, conceptualized by Romulus Fane on every level and worked on extensively by him to enable other Presas to use it, allowed for a Presas to enter into a state akin to a humanoid-beast hybrid.[16] Lōcuria serves to conserve the user's spiritual and physical strength into a compact form, without giving way to the bestial aggression Vociferante creates. In that way, it's quite similar to a Clad-type Fullbring.[30] Once invoked, Siegfried gains a multitude of wolf-like features, such as pronounced canines, sharpened nails, keener eyesight, and enhanced musculature.[3]
- Enhanced reishi claws: By overlaying the claws created by his Lōcuria transformation with his new reishi claws, Siegfried further enhances his penetrative power. He arrived at this conclusion following his battle with Averian where, even with Blut Arterie powering his Lōcuria state, he failed to cut through Averian's Hierro.[3]
- Immense Durability: Siegfried's Lōcuria drastically augments his natural durability, as well as his ability to resist heavy reiatsu.[4] Siegfried survived a direct punch from Averian that shattered the ribs on his right-hand side. After initial treatment by Gengetsu, he was capable of limited movement. Had he activated Blut Vene, he was confident he would have weathered the strike completely.[3]
- Frenético: Due to his diluted heritage, Siegfried can only invoke this ability whilst his Lōcuria is active. This particular trait, which activates in small bursts during periods of increased bloodlust, serves to temporarily empower Siegfried's physical capacities even further.[16] He is particularly prone to involuntary use of this technique when in the presence of particularly potent Reikon Kyuuban reiatsu.[4]
Lōcuria: Letzt Stil[]
The Letzt Stil form is a technique unique to the Quincy that allows them to gather reishi beyond their limit, and is considered an outdated technique and a relic of the past.[31] Whilst it grants immense power, the form is a double-edged sword, for the user's Quincy powers are sealed afterwards as the upsurge is too taxing on the body.[32] Fortunately, Siegfried's Presas lineage provides him with enhanced durability, both in terms of spiritual hardiness and physicality, allowing him to wield the power without being burned.[16] Specifically, he can only safely use Letzt Stil when he is already using Lōcuria. By his own admission, Siegfried developed this technique solely to combat Averian.
- Lōcuria: Letzt Stil (無援月光の暴行:最終形態, Helpless Moonlight's Outrage: Final Form): Siegfried's ultimate technique. If a Shinigami's Bankai and an Arrancar's Resurrección are considered their ultimate techniques, to the point they are likened to one another by Kisuke Urahara and Mayuri Kurotsuchi, Siegfried's Lōcuria: Letzt Stil is his equivalent to the aforementioned.[33] Once invoked, through the removal of Siegfried's own personally made soul-made cloth Sanrei Glove, the fur of his ordinary Lōcuria state transitions into streams of reishi, with this serving as a substitute for the commonly seen reishi wing.
- Lōcuria: Letzt Stil special abilities: Siegfried's Lōcuria: Letzt Stil combines the traits of both techniques with none of the weaknesses that the Letzt Stil form is known for. Siegfried has claimed that only a Quincy with his heritage can wield Letzt Stil safely.
- Enhancements: Outside the ability to dominate reishi, the most fundamental trait of the Lōcuria: Letzt Stil form are the various spiritual and physical enhancements it provides to Siegfried. The standard Letzt Stil form itself causes the reiatsu of the person invoking it to "inflate".[34] Lōcuria, meanwhile, compresses the spiritual and physical power of the user into a more compact form, drastically strengthening the user's physical body, resulting in what can best be described as superhuman strength, durability, and speed.[16]
- Complete Reishi Dominance: In addition to heightened spiritual energy, Siegfried gains complete dominance over reishi, to the point of breaking down structures in areas such as Soul Society and Hueco Mundo, further fuelling his power.[35] Additionally, this absorption of reishi has the added effect of augmenting his existing healing factor. In this state, Siegfried has high-speed regeneration as effective as a full-blown Presas.[16]
Author's notes[]
Behind the scenes[]
- Although named after the same character who appeared in the author's primary works, this iteration of Siegfried is a combination of Siegfried Adler, Aldric Adler, and Zorn, all of whom were Quincy who appeared in Bleach: War of the Worlds. His Presas lineage was inspired by a throw-away description, from Vlad's perspective, made in Vampiric Entry: beings with animal-like powers may stalk the far-flung corners of the world and run in the wild. Furthermore, his title of Wolfbrother is a deliberate shout-out to Perrin from the Wheel of Time series, who is himself a Wolfbrother.
- As was the case with Trillizos, Siegfried was created as a "throw-away" article, the purpose of which was to be killed by Averian. The key word being was. The author got serious Van Helsing vibes whilst writing his introductory paragraph and, after discussion with Fire, it was decided that Siegfried would be spared the hangman's noose. Instead, Gengetsu was ported over to Bleach: War for the King's Seal, to take Siegfried's place. This, in turn, gave rise to an interesting development: Gengetsu was the son of Vlad, thus providing Vlad a more personal stake in the planned battle with Averian.
- Although he uses Kirchenlied, Siegfried is not a member of Lloyd's family. The aforementioned clan existed only in the solo works of the author, and this requirement was dropped when Kirchienlied was ported over to the old Fanon Canon project. This was reinforced by other Quincy, such as Jenna Sheppard and Hikari Raiotto, being practitioners in Bleach: War for the King's Seal.
Trivia[]
- Siegfried can trace his Presas lineage through the maternal line, and his Quincy lineage through the paternal line.
