Shusuke Kiyoshi (秀典清, Kiyoshi Shusuke) is the 7th Kiyoshi Clan Head and current captain of the Sixth Division (Rokubantai, 六番隊; “Squad 6”) within the Gotei Thirteen. Prior to being a part of the Sixth Division, he served the in the Second, and Twelfth Division’s. He is a very well respected Shinigami within the Seireitei, as his time in Sixth allowed him to serve as its longest tenured Captain, earning a reputation of being a savant for the law. Having served in different backgrounds and learning their functions intricately, he can be considered a ‘jack of all trades’ amongst his peers and subordinates, having vast knowledge of not only the Seireitei, but the Soul Society as a whole as well as its inhabitants. Shusuke is also arguably the best detective in the entire Soul Society and is infamous for his astute intelligence and having never been known to make an incorrect hypothesis.
Appearance[]

When described, they start off with his shaggy jet black hair and his soft and sincere purple eyes (A trait of the Kiyoshi family), his eyes so deeply hued they can appear as neon in the night. He also has light facial hair. His appearance is unimposing but his slim body is a feint to his true talents, allowing him favorable bodily freedom in combat. He has aged reasonably in his own estimation, looking more mature as the years get on but still managing to retain a somewhat youthful appearance. Shusuke also has an abundance of tattoos along his arms, back, chest and hands, all of which are of his own artistic design. Most of the tattoos are tribal markings while others are purely cosmetic.
While on duty, Shusuke is always seen wearing his white cloak which also has been custom fitted to be his captains haori, with the emblem of the Sixth Division emblazoned on the back. He wears a sleeveless shihakusho, with a matching black hakama adorned by a purple sash which he has tied loosely around his waist. Instead of the standard sandals and tabi worn by most Shinigami and officers, Shusuke has chosen a sleek, black closed toe shoe resembling that of a ninjas, preferring it to feel more protective, durable and allows him to feel lighter on his feet in battle. He is also never seen without his twin bladed Zanpakutō, En'enra.
Personality[]
Shusuke is a very eccentric, jovial, Laid back shinigami but for the most part of things, he's deceptively intelligent. More oftentimes preferring to hide his true brain capacity to better shroud his skills and abilities from potential threats. He also does this to mystify himself for battle so that others aren’t keen to his tactics. In times of peace he is more relaxed and can be approached fairly easily in conversation. A natural people-person, he enjoys conversation with others and loves sharing what he knows with people. Easy to sniff out a lie or distrust, he tends to not allow others to get too close unless he deems them true friends. Anyone who he considers close will go the extra distance without a shadow of a doubt. Loyalty and honor is what binds Shusuke to this life as a Shinigami now.

In prior years, he preferred not to right off the bat engage someone in battle but rather to talk them out of the fighting spirit by explaining how their own power cannot overcome his own. However in recent years, he has displayed an unusual increased aggression and stoicism, becoming uncaring for the opinions of others and caring objectively less for the consequences of those opinions. Despite his nonchalant attitude he speaks politely and calmly and also being of nobility and is often marveled at by his raw power. In addition to this, he maintains a level of humility and dignity, never crossing the line of arrogance and being blinded by his own strength. As a detective, he believes moral absolutism is the death of all free thought. Choosing to live within the gray area of life, Shusuke has an understanding of the forces and portrayals of the different levels of good and evil. Having nearly aimlessly agonized over these concepts, he believes that no one is inherently bad or good, but just make choices that align with their own individual understandings, goals and ambitions, be it extreme or otherwise. This understanding helps him zero in on why criminals or the people he investigates do the things that they do, and ultimately helps him catch them doing it. He is able to empathize with certain causes that may even conflict with his duties as an upper tier officer, he however still holds considerable grasp over his own ambitions and the duties he has been not only charged, but privileged with. Shusuke can also be described as cold and calculating when angered or disappointed, but nonetheless is controlled in every aspect of his being and will rarely allow his emotions to get the better of him in any situation he may face. He is known to never act without reason, and to always have a reason for his actions. He bears sadness in his heart for his lost loved ones, and his failure to step up to the plate and be a father to his long lost child has weighed heavily on his heart over the course of his life. And thus, does not speak about his son or his past trauma with anyone. Due to this trauma, he is highly dedicated to the law and has thrown himself into a life of serving and protecting the sanctity of the principles and standards that a Shinigami should hold himself to. He has learned and is able to recite nearly every last law and standard that is listed for every Shinigami, from Captain to Unseated. His adherence to the law is [u]absolute[/u], able to recite most all as well as debate, and support the laws all Shinigami must follow. Despite his cool demeanor, he is sanctified in this belief system, as it is the one thing that truly grounds him and his beliefs. He has since improved his relationship with his son and has fostered a long lost bond that was well overdue.
Now more mature in his age, getting up and beyond his six hundredth birthday, he has come to slightly mellow out even further and although he still holds himself to a higher standard due to his roots from the Sixth Division. His laid back nature has often allowed him to ease himself into his maturing age, still holding firm to his relatively youthful outlook on life, he has little fears of becoming far more jaded than the average Shinigami.

Mippei Fūdo: Litterally meaning (密閉フード, Sealing Hood), was a parting gift from his former R/D Division mates, Shusuke garnered a reputation of being silent when walking into the lab and then turning in work that everyone had long forgotten about. Perfecting one of his favorite personal effects, a member of the Research and Development team constructed a light-weight fabric cloak that is designed to hide Reiatsu and Reiryoku. In order for activation, the hood of the cloak must be on the user at all times for their Reiryoku to be hidden away.

Evidence Pouch: A small bag he keeps on his person seemingly at all times. He carries around a small black bag with multiple pockets and a strap along the back that he keeps on the inner part of his uniform which is also deceptively hidden on his person. Within it are multiple test tubes and other small scale containers to keep small clues and bits of evidence while out on duty or when investigating a crime scene. The bag also has small amounts of medical supplies enough for a singular entity, saving it in very desperate and trying situations only.
Denreishinki X: An advanced version of the regular model. Complete with a high-quality back camera and touch screen, which is also a two-way comminicator so that he can always get in touch with anyone from his Division or the Soul Society in general.
Jigokuchō: As a veteran Shinigami, Shusuke would be remiss to never carry some Hell Butterflies upon his person, should his Den X be damaged or destroyed.
Powers and Abilities[]

Master Swordsman: Throughout his many years of service within the Gotei 13, Shusuke has dedicated nearly every ounce of his true fighting skill behind the edge of a Zanpakuto. From a young age he was brought up alongside his siblings as a sword savant, easily gaining an affinity towards the way of the sword. Upon gaining access to his zanpakuto he has since learned to be ambidextrous, having come into a rare form of weapon. He can seamlessly use two blades and is easily able to switch between offense and defense mid battle as easily as he could blink his eyelids. He has always feared no enemy, and would never put his blade down against anyone else should the challenge arrive. He has admired the Kenpachi line of warriors, the title 'Strongest Shinigami' was a claim he wouldn't take for himself, but he does have a dream of one day challenging the Kenpachi, and winning only to not take the title, but die with the satisfaction of knowing he could take their life. His swordsman skill is a testament to his other ”lacking” fighting abilities. With his swift movements and incredible arm speed, the Lord Kiyoshi is able to redirect any attack incoming towards him with an abundance of ease utilizing his innate body control and flexibility when brandishing his blade towards his foes. Similarly, his strength is harrowing when facing a foe head on, blade-to-blade as every swing has the potential for the impact to knock any skilled swordsman off their tempo and rhythm while on a larger scale, can large objects such as buildings, constructs and with enough reiryoku endowment, certain spiritual abilities. Due to his nontraditional sword style, his moves are unpredictable and thus unable to be easily mimicked by just anyone, including masters in their own right.

Trained in many disciplines, such as Iado (居合道) and Kendo (剣道), Shusuke has taken bits and pieces from every sword art he could learn and has manifested that knowledge into his zanjutsu, having no strict style or even stance, he can freely switch between these styles at any given moment. Leaving little openings in his swings and movements, Shusuke has remained a ”a slave to his blade” meaning he will never battle without the aid of his sword as most of his kills have ended with him using it. He has also since graduated from his academy days mastered the sword art Niten Ichi-ryū (二天一流) which primarily focuses on the utilization of his two blades in the most efficient and rapid way possible. In addition to this, his footwork is also among the best among the true swordsmen of the Seireitei’s finest warriors. A testament to his ever growing Shunpo abilities, he is easily able to weave and mix elements of Ho'ho to further confuse and confound his enemies. This footwork has allowed him to survive many deadly blows, be it bladed or blunted. Along with his keen eye for detail even mid battle, he is able to pick apart the patterns and movements of his adversaries and counter-attack all within the same moment of striking. Similarly, he has also further advanced in the two sword style and expounded on it further by adding his own favored single sword style, Ganryū, and created the Niten Ganryū (二天巌流) sword style, an amalgamation of both his favored sword styles combining the tenacity of the single sword technique and adding the swiftness of the second sword. Further putting on display his love and mastery of sword fighting, he emboldens this mastery further through sheer tenacity alone in battle.

Even without the aid of both of his swords he is still a highly capable swordsman and can be argued to fight with a keener sense of focus and versatility as he views the utilization of two blades as being considerably more advanced. The simplicity in the use of one he has since mastered at an obscenely young age. As such he can be viewed as a far more dangerous opponent when both of his hands are on one blade as opposed to sharing his focus in battle between two. He also has a specific favored style when utilizing the one sword, mastering the Ganryū (巌流) sword style initially from a young age. Be it either one hand upon his hilt or two, Shusuke's level of strength as a swordsman is highly considered to be one of the best the Seireitei has to offer. With a thirst for knowledge and growth as a Warrior, his path is almost unrivaled and his potential is limitless. Constantly adopting and adapting his swordplay to match the nuances of new opponents and younger geniuses. Feeling far more freedom when harnessing one blade, Shusuke’s apparent knowledge and skill with edged weaponry is always on full display.
His skills have become so resoundingly unique that he has even taken to developing his own sword stance that he calls the Ash Form (灰様式, Hai no katachi) which makes further use of his Zanpakuto's hidden abilities by rapidly turning his free flowing smoke back into hardened, razor sharp steel. These technique specialize in de-materializing and materializing his weapon mid-contact or action in order to throw off the timing, perception and predictability of his own movements while in the midst of a high speed battle.

Shunpo Master: As a former member of Division 2, Shusuke has had to gain further proficiency in the skill of Ho'Ho to become a true member of the 2nd Division, his previously desired Division to join. While his late sister was a member, She tutored him in mastering his steps, so that he could cover immense ground in seconds. By competing in various foot races across the Seireitei and 2nd Division barracks, Shusuke quickly learned and demonstrated a keen understanding of the Shunpo and was easily able to keep up with his 2nd Division colleagues when once a member. This coupled with a great understanding of shunpo prior to him even becoming a seated officer, Shusuke has garnered a level of speed that can’t normally be matched, even by those of his peers he is still considered to be fairly quick on his feet. Comparatively, he makes his movements very minimal, making it hard to discern his next or killing attack. Allowing his footwork to take over the duration of the fight while his stamina remains uncorked by the conserved energy expended.
In recent years, he has been able to become more fleet-footed and has been noted to be able to traverse vast ground within a single soft step of his shunpo expertise. So much so that he can easily outpace his peers and adversaries alike, leaving them in his effective rear-view with his wealth of understanding of the art. He can quite easily create multiple afterimages of himself in display of his overarching speed to confuse his opponents in battle. Shusuke actively uses his flash step in order to gain further knowledge and break down the concepts of various techniques.

Kidō Practitioner: Noted to be his weakest skill overall, Shusuke has spent little time in his Kido studies, and actively avoided the class while still coming up as a Shinigami in the Academy. Managing below average grades, he was still able to pass the course and go on to become a seated officer. He can easily perform low level spells with no incantation, and through his own spiritual mastery he is able to uphold the spell's integrity. However, higher leveled Spells prove to be nigh too difficult for him to both control and muster, leading him to favor the low leveled spells in both Hado and Bakudo. His mastery of spells 1 through 25 is advanced but anything higher than 45 proves to be a challenge for the Kiyoshi. He was however, able to create a specialized Kido that allowed him to perform his job better, and detaining his perpetrators once caught.

Hakuda Practioner: His previous station within Division 2, he was assigned to work within and keep in line the prisoners of the Maggots Nest, as there is no Zanpakuto to be allowed anywhere near or around the premises. Shusuke has had to develop his hand-to hand skills much to his own chagrin, preferring to fight behind the edge of a blade nearly at all times. However, his skill is not to be diminished as he has developed many self-defense techniques and a small host of non-lethal to quite lethal take down maneuvers to quickly subdue an enemy in close proximity. His body is also noted to be fairly more durable than his stature suggests, allowing him to receive more punishment than he can dish out. Clever in his approach however, he carefully uses his reiryoku to supplement any loss in skill or drop off in power to compensate, by making his movements sharp, quick and most importantly, methodical in approach. Even at the level of strength he currently possess he is still capable of creating a small vacuum of air with the snap of his fingers.

Immense Spiritual Power: From the time of his birth, Shusuke has had a sensationally strong sense of Spiritual prowess. Due to the nature of his Reiryoku, it often comes off as eerie and unassuming. In his own right, the innate potential of it is perpetually untapped. When risen to its highest levels, Shusuke’s inner energies can often be felt across vast distances and can surge strong enough to be felt from even the outer reaches of the Seireitei. While he has a tight grip on his powers, this wasn’t always the case as a young shinigami. Having a tendency to leak it in small but powerful bursts, this can cause others to be dismayed and led astray as they cannot sift through his own spiritual abilities as they attempt to work through the storm that his reiryoku releases. His inner reserves of reiryoku have been honed and exercised since he was old enough to hold himself up as an infant, as even minimal amounts can cause the scene around him to become fairly chaotic.
Blessed with this inner power and ever growing potential, Shusuke is easily able to put pause to most actions and movements made by his adversaries and even his peers. Upon release, a level of fear and unease can be described to be felt as one none had ever experienced before. His power is noted to potentially be on par with a Captain, and is steadily growing as a result of rigorous training and many near death experiences. His keen understanding and skillful mastery over his powers allows him much free reign over his enemies and allies alike, especially those below his level of spiritual strength. While the onset of release is soft and seemingly relaxing, it soon settles into an air of sinister energy as it gradually builds its potency as time goes on. As he ages, his experiences inside and outside battle feeds him with small nuances that he then adds to his own wealth of understanding making his already powerful constitution much more of a formidable force. In turn, he has demonstrated such acutely keen control over his reiryoku, he can easily redistribute and separate his inner energies in various points of his soul and physical appearance for multiple purposes.
Having such a great pool of reiryoku, Shusuke has had to learn, grow and adapt to its dangerous properties and was dogged in his learning process of keeping it under control. As a youth, the initial struggle to understand his inner abilities was arduous at best, but with keen repetition and reinforced teachings from his clan elders and then later on in life, his instructors at the Shin’o Academy increased and cemented his understanding of not only himself but his soul as a whole. With this superior level of control, his emotions have very little bearing on how potent or strong his reiryoku builds up and is completely controlled by the Kiyoshi clan lord. Not only is he is able to ‘cap’ his reiroku into sections, so as not to waste any unnecessary energy and also release them in the same manner. But he also can be impervious to attacks with little resolve or strength behind them to overpower his seemingly bottomless well of reiryoku. This doesn't impede his ability to utilize his skills to its fullest potential but just displays it on a smaller scale. When used with macro intentions, these traits have the potential to be increased over ten fold. Furthermore, his shunpo mastery has grown exponentially since his student years as he is able to seemingly lighten his body while in the midst of travel to get from point A to point B a lot quicker than most including his Captain-level peers. He can also alter his physical appearance to match his smoke-like reiatsu, and become nearly intangible by materializing and de-materializing his body.

Shusuke’s reiryoku can be described as being very relaxed when not being used at its most violent peak. He is easily able to release his inner energies without a single “fighting pose” or maneuver, allowing him to quickly create a plume of thick smoke into the environment that he is currently a part of. The smoke, when released, allows him to hide within the thick smoke and conceal his reiryoku and reiatsu signature from any sensors around him. This however does not work for his enemies as they are always within his line of sight and allows him to get the drop and surprise anyone unlucky enough to encounter it. He has also been known to use it in a different, non-violent manner, to help break down the mental stability of his adversaries; he has learned to instill doubt into the psyche of those around him when exposed to his reiatsu. Possibly leading to thoughts of doubt, disbelief and ultimately paranoia. This allows him to distract and confound his enemies with his skilled prowess. This induced skepticism will likely overpower any train of thought or action the target has originally set out to do and will often hesitate before carrying out that action. The target(s) will feel a level of lifted inhibition if succumbed, meaning with enough exertion and strength, Shusuke can even [u]compel[/u] the truth or a confession from an individual with simple phrases and questions, allowing them to spew any misdeeds or secrets that he may require while out on the job. Any secret is bound to flow with this level of effect, personal or non-personal secrets are not left to privacy any longer and when in use the target is completely oblivious to its activation and their own babbling.

Master Tactician/Leader: Despite his aloof and unkempt appearance, Shusuke is a very insightful and cunning man. He possesses great intuition, quickly becoming aware of any incoming danger and reacting to it in time. Kiyoshi has an undeniable talent for thinking things through well in advance, making decisive and accurate decisions quickly in battle, and seemingly perceiving any situation at hand. He is a crafty tactician, easily deceiving both allies and enemies. In battle, he regularly uses cunning and deception to catch his opponents off-guard. He is a very analytical man, quickly seeing through an opponent's power and attack patterns to ultimately make them useless against him. As such, this also makes him extremely invaluable in war-time situations when mobilizing units across the battlefield and organizing the right personnel into the proper companies to serve the effort in the best and most efficient way possible. He can easily enter a fight with aid and regardless of whether or not he has ever battled with a set of comrades, he can easily form an effective plan to overcome his obstacles within a rather short period of time.
Enhanced Adaptability/Durability: A highly tenured Shinigami with not only great intelligence but a phenomenal understanding of his bodily limitations. Shusuke as a youth was placed through some of the harshest and most rigorous training practices that have since been laid to rest by the elders of his clan. Going through his over five-hundred year career as an upper tier officer, there have been many situations that required him to have to adapt to the ever changing tide of battle. Whether the violent momentum is swinging for or against him, Shusuke will have most certainly devised a plan that would allow him to work within his skill-set and physical conditioning. While he doesn't have an imposing appearance, he is very hardy and durable and can receive grandiose levels of punishment without wincing or showing any real signs of pain for a prolonged period of time. As such, most means of physical torture are out of question when dealing with the Shinigami. Similarly, his ingenuity when dealing with unforeseen circumstances and situations, and even tolerance of temporary anomalies can be considered dogged or tireless, causing his enemies to be more receptive to how they operate around the Kiyoshi in the heat of battle.
Deductive Reasoning: Not an easy skill to come by for most, requiring the skill and talent of a true lawman and learning the various ‘tells’ of the many different kinds of people. Shusuke in his tenured time in the Sixth Division has formed a cognitive sixth sense and an impetuous eye for detail in any scenario he lands himself in. Ranging from bodily movements to inanimate objects as well as obstructed scenes and difficult puzzles, he is easily able to rationalize and reason within himself to find the correct path, and seemingly always make the right decision. Regardless of how small a clue, a clean environment, or dirty. Shusuke's level of reasoning will always fall to the correct path to take, making him the Seireitei’s [u]best[/u] detective. He has been able to apply this to some of his fighting methods to further his understanding of souls and living persons' hand to hand techniques as well as mannerisms concerning weaponry of various forms. Further accentuating this particular skill, it allows him to perceive and predict the movements of his adversaries including those of which he has never fought before. Picking apart their patterns and finding lapses in their actions be it physical or mental.
Zanpakutō[]

En'enra (煙々羅, Lightweight-fabric Smoke) His Zanpakutō is unique in that it exists as a daisho sword pair. Their cross guards are rectangles, and the hilts are decorated by a pattern of waves and air flow, one sports an all black handle and the other sports an all white one. He keeps them sheathed through his waist tied at his left side, however, during battle, the swords have been known to be placed on both sides of his sash. Like other Zanpakutō, En'enra has a personality of her own. However, unlike other Zanpakutō, this personality shines through in battle.
Shikai[]
The blade is triggered on activation by the phrase, "Smother them" (彼らを窒息させる, Karera wo kisoku sa seru). To activate the Shikai form of his Zanpakuto, Shusuke unsheathes his blade if it hasn't already been in use and the blade will decompose into millions of smaller fibers of dark air turning into a thicket of black smoke. He can very easily forgo any incantation or release command as he can simply just instruct the zanpakuto to reveal its hidden potentials without any words at all.

Shikai Special Ability: When released, En'enra releases thick black smoke that forms into a vast plume of pitch black smoke that prevents the enemy from breathing or inhaling regular air. When breathed in, their breathing patterns will soon begin to slow, and their heart rate will drop exponentially from the contamination in the polluted air. Sight also becomes another variable problem as the smoke is thick and actively moving with its user. If exposed for a prolonged period of time, the smoke can shut down all bodily functions and kill an opponent at a moment's notice. Shusuke can also use a portions of the smoke to reform his lost blade upon his hilt without retracting the vapors entirely to use and fight with. He can also ultimately retract the entirety of the smoke and seal away any and all who breathed it in within the area of his blade. While confined within this smoke-space, Shusuke can manipulate his zanpakutō’s reiatsu and change the shape of the smoke to anything he wants. When used in conjunction with his own natural reiatsu, he can quite very easily throw opponents off as they don't know where his own power starts and where his Shikai finishes as he can use the smoke to hide himself and his reiryoku within it. He is fully aware of any inhabitants within this space, friend or foe, he can easily distinguish who is subjected to the range of his powers allowing him to act accordingly in battle. Shusuke has effectively likened this place to not only a prison, but an interrogation room, aptly nicknaming it Kitsuen Shi Kukan (喫煙死の空間, Smoking Death-Space).
Bankai[]

Bankai: Kurokoge Sekai En'enra (黒焦げ世界煙々羅, Charred World of Lightweight-fabric Smoke): To activate his Bankai, Shusuke would crush his blade as if in frustration and then call out bankai while it is seemingly destroyed. Immediately upon the compression, the sword seemingly blows up with a burst of black and gray reiryoku and forms into a tornado of thick black smoke that quickly seeps into the atmosphere and settles once again into a much larger black plume of smoke. The smoke is so thick, it will block out any light or weather patterns no matter how powerful, replacing it with pitch black. Shusuke is now equipped with both of his zanpakuto in its sealed form, blackened by the smoke caused by his blades reiatsu. While they carry their new abilities in its bankai form, the radius of the smoke has been extended exponentially in addition while also holding onto its previous capabilities.
Bankai Special Ability: The Hai Kokushibyo Kaze (灰黒死病風, Ash Black Death-Wind) is the large mass of black smoke born from the power of Shusuke's Bankai. The toxic smoke that polluted the air has its similar aforementioned effects but is now intensified one hundred fold, as it now begins to burn the eyelids making it difficult for the enemy to have uninhibited vision. Without their sight, their sense of direction within this void will be severely limited, all the while not being able to breathe accordingly as well as their sense of smell being disfigured as they can only breathe in the noxious black ash. The smoke within can be likened to a bad snowstorm with never ending soot obstructing your immediate vision, with the capability to quickly latch onto bodies and begin to slow down movement in the joints and actually add certain weight as the opponents clothing ends up proving to be their undoing, the longer they fight within this smoke dome. He refers to this effect of his Bankai as the Hai Maisō (常設 灰, Standing Ash Burial). Assuming an opponent is fully encased in black soot, or even so much as an entire appendage is covered, the ash then begins to break down the body of its prey and slowly decomposes their limbs and bones effectively grinding them down into similar matching black ash adding them to the black storm that is this Bankai. Even if an opponent were to prevent this from taking place, the chances of losing their sight, smell and appendages is so great, that whoever is caught within this bankai are like to lose something.
This smoke can eat away at reiatsu, kido, cero's, quickly assimilating it and other spiritual energy based techniques as it adds to the bankai’s active ferocity, even furthering its already vast radius, allowing it to continue to grow in both size and power. The energy itself can also be repurposed for Shusuke's use mid battle as he can form weapons and constructs while being able to continue to manipulate his own energies acutely and independently. Extended exposure to this new level of toxic smoke can lead to your insides being heated up and eventually burned via inhalation and also melt the organs within the opponent, forcing further bodily shut downs. Because of these properties, Shusuke’s bankai’s abilities are indiscriminate to friend or foe and will affect any and all who are within its vast area of effect. It is because of this reason alone that he must fight alone while his bankai is active so as not to injure or murder his comrades inadvertently.

🌫 Shusuke is the youngest of 5 Siblings.
🌫 The creation of Shusuke Kiyoshi is somewhat inspired by the legendary swordsman, Musashi Miyamoto, which is also the main character in the manga, Vagabond. While his fighting style is largely inspired by Musashi Miyamoto's rival, Sasaki Kojiro, who is a character in the anime/mange, Record of Ragnarok.
🌫 Shusuke is fluent in various languages such as Spanish, German.
🌫 The Captain of Sixth Division is a musical lover of many genres, and keeps a large collection of records from across different time periods. He often secretly tasks members of both the Tenth and Thirteenth Divisions to get him musical records so that he can listen to while he works in his office. His favorite genres are classical, jazz, hip-hop, and sometimes pop music. He loathes Country.
🌫 Shusuke Kiyoshi's Japanese voice actor the talented Ryōtarō Okiayu, who also is known for voicing Byakuya Kuchiki. His English voice actor is Kit Harington, best known for portraying Jon Snow in the Game of Thrones TV Series. Harington was invited to utilize his native voice while playing the Kiyoshi Captain, which has been well-received by fans and viewers.

The Smoking Shadow (喫煙の影, Kitsuen no Kage; lit. "The Smoking Ghost") — by his enemies and adversaries. A name born from his lurking through darkness, shadow and smoke when in battle. An epithet born from fear.
The Lawman (弁護士, Bengoshi; lit. “The Authority”) — His favorite title. Viewing himself as a direct representation of the law, if not the law itself, he acts with pride and deals heavy in the hand of justice.
Demon of the Black Smoke (黒灰の魔物, Kurohai Mamono; lit. “Demon of the Black Ash”) — The other side of Kiyoshi, the darker side. The side that houses the killer within, dying to come.
