Shinuchi (真打, Shinuchi; Japanese for "True Strike") is the original name for Bankai prior to being named by Ichibē Hyōsube. Once achieved, the Shinigami's Zanpakutō was referred to as a Shinkashita Zanpakutō (進化した斬魄刀, "Evolved Zanpakutō").
