Shinsaitō (神截刀, "God-Severing Sword") is the weapon used by the Hitorigami. The art of wielding a Shinsaitō is known as Zanjutsu (斬術, "Swordsmanship"). Shinsaitō are extremely rare to come by, as the only to wields a Shinsaitō was Toneri Tokugawa.

Obtaining a Shinsaitō[]
There are two ways to obtain a Shinsaitō, one harder than the other. The first is much like how one recieves a Zanpakutō. Instead of merging one's soul with an Asauchi to obtain a Zanpakutō, a Hitorigami must merge their Reiatsu and their mental essence. While this method seems easier, it has been proven that it is not. If the balance of the reiatsu and mental essence are not perfectly harmonic, one could become trapped within their Zanpakutō never to see the light of day again.
