Hadō #94. Shiden (紫電, Purple Lightning) is a Kidō spell. Shiden is stylised as the "strongest lightning-based Hadō".[1]
Description[]
The practitioner gather's highly concentrated spiritual power in their palm which takes on the appearance of crackling electricity,[2] which is followed by the practitioner thrusting their palm forward at the target.[3] The result is a massive discharge of purple-coloured lightning from the user's palm -- or Zanpakutō.[4] The potential damage caused by Shiden is extensive; when used by Kentaro against the enhanced-Espada-class Arrancar Joel Félix, Kentaro knocked him unconscious with one blast.[5]
Enhancement[]
- Shiden Abara (紫電肋, Purple Lightning Ribcage) -- a variant unique to Kentaro Shiba that is achieved by applying the lightning of Shiden to his Shikai's ribcage-like defensive construct, allowing him to thoroughly discipline attackers. Each rib is capable of firing off this spell through mere hand gestures from Kentaro himself.
Improvement[]
- Kaizō Shiden (改造紫電, Modified Purple Lightning) -- a modification to the base-spell originally made by Rōnin Shiba and passed along to his son soon after. It produces a distinctly red-coloured beam produced from the practitioner's finger, which can punch through all but the sturdiest of defences.
Incantation[]
"A drum roll sounds, the wind that ignites the embers blow. Spinning wheel, orchard sky, dancing daggers! Fluttering wings, bloody sacrifice! Unify and converge brightly when fired!"[3]

Behind the Scenes[]
- This spell, Shiden, arose from the outdated Norowa Shukufuku (呪わ祝福, Cursed Blessing) created by the author when this wiki was first formed.
