"If you set limits on yourself and what you're capable of accomplishing, then you restrict your soul from maturing... and ultimately stunt any possibility of genuine growth. What you have to realize is that there are no limits. You must take a giant leap forward without fear, toward the darkness like a guiding light; with clarity of mind. And continue to advance."

Shōin Shiranui Style (松陰不知火流, Shōin Shiranui-ryū; literally "Pine Trees in Darkness Guiding Light Style") is a form of Hakuda developed by Seireitou Kawahiru and is taught to all students of the Senjukuha. It is composed from a vast selection of countless martial arts, derived from both the ancient and modern schools, but also features principles and concepts found in the other three Zankensoki disciplines. According to Seireitou, the style's name is meant to symbolize the core tenet of his martial art belief that a martial artist must be the light that guides others out of the darkness; in particular, "Shōin" (松陰) is taken from the former's full name.
According to Seireitou, the Shōin Shiranui Style is built upon the premise of "One Spirit, Four Souls, Three Origins, Eight Powers" (一霊四魂三元八力, Ichirei Shikon Sangen Hachiriki). It is a Hakuda style belonging to both the Kiai and Kiroku realms. That mantra details the structure of the style Seireitou had created to teach the students of Senjukuha, one that he began to develop as early as his days as a Captain within the Gotei 13, as the early craft's original practitioners were none other than the Silver-Hairs Gang.

Behind the Scenes
"Ichirei Shikon Sangen Hachiriki" (一霊四魂三元八力) is a concept that is prominent in the martial art theories of Morihei Ueshiba, which is stated as being the representation of the universe's structure as well as the basic structure of Aikido. As the entire Hakuda arrangement for Seireitou Kawahiru corresponds to this concept, it stands to reason the style he developed to teach others also reflects that structure.
