Sekkei Muratagi (村多義 設計, Muratagi Sekkei) is a male Shinigami that once served as a Captain within the Gotei 13. He is known to have worked alongside Kirio Hikifune during several research and development ventures. An enigmatic man shrouded in mystery, Sekkei operates as an information broker, possessing a tremendous knowledge over all things pertaining to the spiritual realms. He is often contracted by Suzaku Kawahiru in matters pertaining to the assignments handled by Basara. His allegiances lie solely to himself, only partaking in situations that pique his personal interest, with the perspective of a scientist observing an experiment.

Kidō Master[]
While a trained warrior in all combat forms, Sekkei's greatest skills lie in the field of Kidō, which serve as the foundation for his entire battle style. He was considered an immense talent of the magical arts even while in the academy, having been offered at one time a position within the Kidō Corps, and later obtained a position as a Captain among the Gotei 13 only a year after graduation. Having mastered all of the notable disciplines, such as casting spells without incantation, multiple incantations, afterthought incantations; being able to cast Kidō without a necessity for movement or a gesture, or even without needing to speak its name; and even altering the very nature of a spell to suit his desires. Such mastery over the disciplines was necessary for Sekkei to create his personalized form of Kidō, the armiger of sorcery, which demands that the sorcerer is able to produce spells in a variety of different and complex designs while completely controlling, manipulating, and altering those spells as though it were second nature. In creating this method, Sekkei managed to turn the very essence of Kidō itself into his own personal arsenal of weapons.
