The Renkei (連携, Linkage) are paired bracelets created by Kenji Hiroshi for the purpose of power sharing between the two wearers. However, researchers -- namely Sakata and Oda Kōhai -- have developed similar technology, which is now available within the Soul Society, Heisekai and Kōhai Tochi.
Overview[]
Renkei are sets of paired bracelets (no two sets being the same in appearance) worn around the wrist of the respective wearers. They where initially developed as a means to restore Kusaka's lost power. By wearing one apiece Kusaka would have been capable of fighting by using Kenji's spiritual power, which would have been transferred to him through the bracelets, instantaneously. However, a complication occurred, resulting in the bracelets overloading and exploding -- which very nearly killed Kenji and Kusaka in the process during said test.
Kenji has since perfected the developmental process, allowing the bracelets to be used as originally intended. However, as Kusaka had already achieved Quincy powers through the intervention of Fujimaru Namikaze, its effect became defunct. With some quick tinkering Kenji altered the bracelets and gifted them to Itazura Kori, Kusaka's young cousin, who in turn wore one himself whilst giving the other to Kouatsu, a master-less Zanpakutō spirit, allowing him to release Kouatsu's power across any distance.
Kenji would also go onto create more, which he gifted to Kazeshini, who distributed them amongst those who joined Itazura in his mission to avenge the death of Serena Natsume. However, at the same time, Sakata -- Lieutenant of the 12th Division in the Gotei 13 -- developed a very similar device, as did Oda Kōhai, all three arriving at similar conclusions for very different reasons. As such the bracelets are widely available.

Effects[]
- Spiritual Power Sharing: As is the norm with the bracelets, the two wearers can share their reiryoku during battle, momentarily bolstering one wearer at the expense of another. Skilled users can thus give their techniques a greater threat level by combining their own power with their ally, especially true with the use of Kidō.
- As is the case with Itazura and Kouatsu, Itazura can release and use Kouatsu's powers whenever he so desires. This is due to two contributing factors: 1) Kouatsu allows his various stages of release to be used, 2) the bracelets transfer Kouatsu's power to Itazura. This means than even should he be in a seperate realm, Itazura can use Kouatsu's power, even should Itazura's own power be sealed or restricted.
- Communication: The bracelets can also be used as a communication device, similar to a phone, though only some seem to possess this feature. This feature is inherent to all Kenji's models, for example, while Sakata's do not have this feature at all. Distance limits this particular attribute however, though only across realms.
