The Nikkō District (日光, Nikkō, Japanese for "Sunlight") is the 12th District in the East Rukongai.
Overview[]
Nikkō is an old and bustling market district located close to the Seireitei. While criminal activity is kept to a minimum due to the ever-present shadow of the Gotei 13, the district nevertheless boasts numerous Bakuto Parlors and a resident circus which allegedly serve as windows to the black market. The residents of Nikkō are typically well off economically, and as a result their opinions regarding the Shinigami vary, with some even being sympathetic towards the Seireitei. The district itself consists of an eclectic mix of recently constructed buildings modeled to imitate those in the Seireitei, and ancient structures that bear a Chinese-influence. There are various market plazas and vendor-lined streets, and as such it is somewhat easy to become lost if one is not familiar with the district.
