Moon-type Zanpakutō (桂月型斬魄刀, Keigetsu-kata Zanpakutō) are unique, rare occurring zanpakutō, that are a subsection of Kidō-type zanpakutō. They are named moon-type because their names and abilities are linked directly to the moon. These zanpakutō are also unique in that they all have one attack in common; Getsuga Tenshō. An example of this would be Ritsudō Yorukura's Jōshōgetsu, Isshin's Engetsu, Ichigo's Zangetsu, and Kento Tensei's own Zangetsu; despite having similar names, they are all different zanpakutō, but all share Getsuga Tenshō.
