I've been around, just not around here. The FC slowed down, work picked up, and when things got back to normal with my schedule, I decided to try something new. I've been on the Sword Art Online Fanon since around the end of August.
SAO fanon? You're a said, I know about that wikia man. Shudders, but ever since my basic training ended, I've been getting back into gear with wikia and as such, Bleach popped back up so I had to hit you up!
I'm not going to pretend I'm some magnifecent translationist. Some of the better translations I've gotten have come from other people, with far more knowledge about Japaense than I have. When I do try my own hand at translating I tend to use Nihongodict. Google translate can be helpful and I usually use it in conjunction with other sites, such as the one I linked you to.
The discord server is hardly big and has few people. Where can I find reliable info on creating my Zanpakuto and its powers and abilities? I’m trying to have one that manipulates dark colored energy and darkness and shadow in general that can mimic flames and lightning, the name moon in so it can use Getsuga Tenshō as well as supreme control of gravity.
Yo Kenji, how's it going? Been a while since we've talked.
Anyways, I mainly wanted to talk to you about Bleach Wiki. I noticed you're trying to help out the situation over there and all, but if you ask me, your assistance would be far better spent at... oh say, our new canon site? You'd be more than welcome over there with us, especially since it's basically BFF's official canon database, or rather, it's slowly becoming it. So if you're interested at all in helping with documentation of Bleach content, you'd find it far less of a hassle helping us out than trying to convince those Bleach Wiki people of anything.
Yeah, I've been doing good, Sei. My breakdown of hours has improved so I've longer spells to myself when I'm not working.
As far as the Bleach wiki goes. I honestly think the whole things just been blown out of proportion. I feel if the information actually gets documented then there will ultimately be no issue. I wish you guys well with the new site but you've a helluva lot of stuff to document and reference before even getting to the novels. I'll keep working on Bleach wiki -- if enough people are seen to be working on them then perhaps we'll get the wheels turning?
That's my hope at any rate. I'll just have to see how it all pans out.
The issue is deeper than the light novels, unfortunately. Besides the vast amount of LN content, there is a great deal of databook material that they refuse to acknowledge. In addition to that, there's even more content that I was unaware Bleach Wiki completely ignored (one example of this is that Character Book Souls gave an official name for Zanpakuto spirits, "Manifestations" (Kengen)). But every time this information is added, it gets reverted without a second thought. Simply put, their attitude, elitism, and selective strictness with policies are extremely counterproductive. The only reason they're adding this particular content, 2 years after the fact, is because they know the Bleach community won't live this down. Just because they're adding CFYOW now doesn't mean they're going to be open toward addressing all the other Bleach content they're missing. I honestly believe you're wasting your time with them. It is a tall order to build an entire Bleach wiki from scratch, but we have all the materials necessary, we have several users from BFF willing to work on it, and most importantly, our site doesn't feel the need to make every single contribution a game of "will they revert it this time or not?" But anyways, to each their own.
I'm more-or-less finished the Part I retcon. Part II's War of the Worlds will be worked on next, which is where Kei began having more appearances. As for the FC the 9th Division needs a second Lieutenant and Kei could fill the role if you want?
Basically, the FC underwent a bit of a shuffle in an effort to make it more open-ended. To allow this pretty much all of the old content was disregarded. A New Chapter and Ripple In a Pond are defunct too.
The Assault on the 9th Division event page I linked you to earlier is pretty much all the stuff being retained from Dawn of the Coven going forward. That's also why I changed up the Kido Association page and remodelled the Kido element of the 9th Division into a proper unit.
The active RP's at the moment are here: Renascence Beginning. I'm working on Fly in the Stone atm. I have to go through my released work as well and change references to The Coven to references about the Assault.
Fun times :P
Here's the timeline courtesy of Saris with my own additives:
The Quincy Blood War ended on 19 June 2003.
The Assault on the 9th Division was 2004, roughly a year after the Blood War.
The epilogue was set in 2013, 9 years later.
The current incarnation of FC takes place in 2019, 6 years after the epilogue.
I had parts drawn up for a third arc for my characters before the FC was reshuffled. The Cultist arc would have featured the Evening Primrose as the main enemy faction, which takes place in 2009. Main bad dude hasn't been made yet. We can do something there? Though Kenji and Kei would still be Seated officers at that point.
Maybe Hisagi's lady friend doesn't need to know? That way he can look like "Kei, stick that on my tab" and be all impressive. You know, just encase the Captain's coat doesn't cut it. Kenny can get away with saying "That's Hisagi's round, by the way." :P
I saw the post. Considering that Van has more or less dropped into "stealth" at this point, he's awaiting his opportunity to strike at full effectiveness. Since you've already posted with Asuka, we're waiting on Dal's Yuu to make a move.
Unless you want me to do something? I can post now if you want and allow Yuu to potentially ambush the attackers later?
Hey Kenji, how's it hangin'? I just wanted to give you a heads up about some reorganizing I've done with the FC pages since we've been shifting in a different direction. We won't be using the Coven page anymore, the current FC page is now Bleach Renascence. As such, I moved the pages you organized under Side Stories onto here: Renascence Beginning. Hope that doesn't mess up any of the stuff you've been working on. We're still grandfathering in old content that is still relevant so nothing anybody still wants will be lost.
Yeah, can't complain Sei. Enjoying the latter half of a week off from work atm, so all's good. Cheers for the heads up. It doesn't mess with anything I had planned. I'll have a few links to change around here and there, but nothing a couple of minutes work won't fix. The old page was looking somewhat cluttered anyway.
This here translates the "true Shikai" of Hisagi after finally fusing properly with Kazeshini (or so it seems). And since you're such a big Hisagi fan, and have your own rendition, I figured it would be appropriate to have you join the fanboying too :P
Howdy, Ashy. I've been doing good -- keeping busy as usual!
I was keeping up with translations but I hadn't seen this, so thanks for posting it! My plan is to wait for the full translation to be released and then compare and contrast it with Bleach: Brave Souls. That game is apparently going to cover the story of CFYOW, so that's the plan atm. It's why I haven't actually included much CFYOW info on my two versions of Hisagi yet.
But damn, am I liking what I've read so far! My boy Hisagi was always a badass (in my eyes at least) and this had only reinforced it further. It's also blown my own ideas for Hisagi's Bankai out of the water -- and I'm glad about that.
That was all. Jk jk. I was looking at Anika's hybrid style (totally not stalking) and thought that it might have a name, if you wanted to give it one that is.
The name I was thinking of was one that was on one of my old pages: Shunsenryū (閃戦流, "Flash War Style").
So you can let me know what you think.
I was wondering, uhm... Is the site-wide Fanon-Canon thingie still on-going? Since I was wondering if I would be able to join? (And maybe recieve some help with making an OC? I seen your character, and I was like. "How?" xD) Well, I hope you could get back to me! -Maestro.
Hello there, and welcome to the wiki! You'd certainly be allowed to join: nothing better than a new user showing interest in site-wide projects. And thanks for the compliments. I had a similar reaction myself when I first joined this wiki and saw some of the characters floating around.
Anyways, I won't lie. The FC is sputtering at the moment but I'm confident we can give it a boot in the backside to get things up and running once again. I'd also be happy giving you a hand with your characters! I'll give you a quick rundown of the groups involved and then we'll see which way you wanna go with your character.
There are three main groups at the moment:
The Gotei 13: AKA the good guys. This would certainly provide the easiest means of you contributing to the FC. The Divisions have been fleshed out, and each Division at the minute reflects the Captain in charge. With a Shinigami character its as easy as picking a Division and putting your character out there.
The Coven: AKA the bad guys. The Kidō Corps Revolt and Dawn of the Coven will give you some insight into what these guys are and what their goals are. This group would be similar to the Gotei 13 regarding ease of integration into the plot. As the antagonists they'll appear frequently so again its just a matter of putting your character out there.
Xstence: AKA the third party. These guys are Humans -- specifically Fullbringers. The current FC chapter -- Ripple In a Pond -- focuses first on the Fullbringers and will eventually feature both the Gotei 13 and The Coven.
Let me know what you think and we'll see which way you wanna go.
Well, I was wanting to either make a Visored Shinigami, or an Arrancar. Since those were my two favourite things about the anime. But, I also want to join the Gotei 13, which sounds awesome aas well, but, I was wondering, since this is all sputtering, is there any good guys, bad guys or Fullbringers?
(Just wanting to know so I could make a better character suited for this storyline! And keep everything balanced. :P)
An Arrancar could be easily integrated as well. As far as I remember The Coven have their headquarters in Hueco Mundo, which is right on a potential Arrancar's doorstep. No Visored yet that I'm aware of but I see no reason why you couldn't make one.
If you want to get started with the FC right away, then a Fullbringer is definitely the way to go. You'll see a full list of Fullbringers affiliated with Xstence if you follow the link I gave you above. The same is true for Shinigami characters, just look for individual Division pages: 9th Division for example. We introduced all our Fullbringers in A New Chapter, which then transitioned into Ripple In a Pond.
Post your interest here. Its one of the FC threads and despite attempts to start new threads, people seem to keep going back to it.
Yeah, I'll be making a Fullbringer character, since the abilities would be the most versatile, and I've had experience with characters of the same caliber. But, I'd like to know, what are your personal preferences on power for the Fullbringer? Am I allowed to make a powerful Fullbringer? Or does it have to be mediocre? (Just wanting to know for future reference. :P)
You'd be better asking Shonen about preferred power-level but I haven't seen anything said about restricting power. He's the guy who runs the organisation, so bounce a few questions off him. My own guy in Xstence is Garrett Sheppard, and he's pretty average at the moment.
Honestly, I think I won't be a good addition to the FC stuff, so I'm just going to make my own characters and arcs. :P Gonna go for the Arrancar is a do-gooder vibe, since I always wanted that to happen. So... I don't think anyone would want a do-gooder arrancar in FC. xD It's just too out there. xD -Maestro.
