Merem Akeame (メレムアケアメ, Akeame Meremu, lit. Hebrew for Height, Japanese for Red Rain) is an Arrancar that wanders the vast sandy plains of Hueco Mundo. He is an unknown variable, an anomaly, taking no sides to any conflicts—a wanderer. Merem is said to hail from an enclave of higher level Hollows that have organized themselves and fallen into a culture of civility much unlike the rest of their home realm—mirroring the ways of the much hated Soul Society. Where this place can be found is known only to those that ever called it home, tucked away from the entirety of Hueco Mundo beyond even the power hungry eyes of Baraggan Louisenbairn and the devious ones of Sōsuke Aizen. Whispers of Merem echo throughout parts of Hueco Mundo, of a boy with frightening power, whose presence is followed by screams, blood, and suffering. A force of destruction that simply wants peace.

Zanpakutō[]
Aniquilar (あにくいらあ, Anikuira, lit. Spanish for "Annihilate"): is the name of Merem's zanpakutō. In its sealed form, it takes the form of a well crafted katana. Aniquilar's design dazzles all that see it, much in contrast to the vile power it seals. The sword's blade borders on a serene white in color, pale as milk-glass; and it shimmers under the sun's rays as if it were a divine weapon. The silver tsuba follows the standard design and the hilt is of a bright white hue following the standard design of most katanna with silver inlaid menuki. The end of the hilt is covered by a golden cap. Merem normally wears his sword to his side, though it hangs to the back. On some occasions, he opts to simply hold the sheathed blade as he travels.
- Resurecciòn: Anquilar is released by the ominous phrase Lay Waste To (重点毀損至, Jūten Kison Shi). At the moment of release, a smoky, red pillar of reiatsu envelops Merem all around. In midst of this, Merem turns from something frail to something both bizarre and terrifying—a devil with a smile. The Arrancar's height shoots up to 6 foot 4 inches as a malevolent presence emanates.
