Bakudō #93. Meiyu (明癒, lit. "Luminous Healing") is a Kidō spell, it is a rarity among Bakudō in that it is a spell of healing. While Kaidō ordinarily lacks specific spells, Meiyu and its sibling, Keikatsu are the sole exceptions. When cast it is capable of healing a small group of individuals to great extent.

It is believed that Meiyu calls upon the aid of Inari.

Description[]

Created by an unknown Kidō Master of the Fourth Division, Meiyu is a spell of overwhelming complexity, massive energy drain and exceptional potential. Although only the fewest Shinigami might make use of it, those who can are indispensable for their ability to sustain an entire fighting squad on their lonesome in the heat of combat.

Unlike most Bakudō spells, Meiyu is inherently unwieldy and requires a few seconds to cast properly, even without taking into account the actual incantation itself. This is to compensate for the dangers of utilizing healing magic in such an abrupt fashion.

When the powers of Meiyu are summoned, it manifests as a large silvery white sphere around the caster and those they want to affect with the spell. As the incantation is spoken it builds up before ripples outwards with soothing tendrils which connect with each target and mend their spirits, mind and bodies.

Afterwards, the subjects are left with a general feeling of warmth and comfort, as their bodies are restored to their peak. Although at great expense to the original caster, who often faces severe exhaustion.

Incantation[]

"O maiden of rice fields, thread and rope, a knot untied. Three raindrops I bring to thee, of blessings giveth, as with water taketh. A wheel of gold I turn by daylight, accept this honest plea. A drop of blood in a clear pond!"
