Marlen Adams (マーリン·アダムス, Mārin· Adamusu) is a Visored of mixed Cuban and African-American descent originally from St. Louis who was killed in the East St. Louis Riot. She joined the Gotei in the heart of the Espada War, and ranked up to 6th seat of 3rd Division under Regan. An incident towards the end of the war turned her into a Visored, and her captain decided to protect her and send her away to the World of the Living to be trained by the exile Reuben Rockwell. She was able to hide her nature after several years, and Regan took her back into the 3rd Division as her lieutenant. After the initial Shadow invasion, Marlen gained a partner in her former mentor Reuben, and is the head of the recruitment department.

Zanpakuto[]
Learco (村の裁判官, (Mura no Saibankan), Judge of His Village) Is Marlen's Zanpakuto, a melee type. In its sealed form, Learco is a regular, 25" katana with dark, wine-colored handle wrappings, tan rayskin, and a gold, circular tsuba engraved with a stylized hand making a fist. The sheathe is a darker shade of the handle wrapping color, and Marlen wears it tucked into the back of her obi, pointing towards the left.
