Bakudō #59. Keikatsu (啓活, lit. "Opening Revival") alongside Meiyu, Keikatsu serves the function of dedicated combat healing, although unlike its far superior cousin, Keikatsu only heals a one person; although its potency is still sufficient to remain effective.

Historically, both Keikatsu and its greater cousin have been exclusive to the Kidō Corps, but following the Quincy Blood War it was included as one of the Central 198 to ensure that restorative magics were available to skilled Shinigami.

Like Meiyu, Keikatsu is believed to draw upon the power of Inari.

Overview[]

Healing is always a sensitive subject, and the amount of care one must exercise to utilize Keikatsu effectively on a comrade is great indeed; and knowledge of Kaidō is essential in order to avoid doing more harm than good.

When preparing to cast Keikatsu, the user places both their hands in a triangle-like formation and then directs them at the subject while uttering the incantation. At the completion of the spell, a white nimbus of pale light emanate about the subject, restoring their spiritual energy and healing their injuries.

As with Meiyu, Keikatsu is particularly draining for a spell of its level, and is remarkably difficult despite its apparent simplicity; to the degree that many less talented Shinigami simply opt out of studying it altogether.

Incantation[]

"O maiden of rice fields, a fruitful harvest, the wheat turns gently in the wind!"
