Kawazu (川頭, Kawazu) is a former student of Yuengiri Academy who affiliated with the Six Directions following the Collapse. After Anko Amatsuki's integration into the organization, the duo founded the Kigyōrengō, an organization dedicated to scientific advancement. He is currently both a Head and Field Researcher of the said organization, as well as its Second-in-Command.

History[]
Kawazu's actual origins aren't clear, but he was reincarnated into Horiwari after his death as a human. He lived his life in relative peace for several years until he encounter a number of students who were being taught by Maki Zhijun and other instructors. Fascinated by the prospect of doing something which actually engaged his interest, Kawazu enrolled to the Yuengiri Academy. The accepting nature of the Academy enabled him to start the curriculum immediately, which Kawazu was remarkably excited by.
During the majority of the series, Kawazu is within the Academy grounds, rarely taking part in the events that would eventually lead to the Collapse. This was rather strange, particularly since most of his classmates were thoroughly involved in these events, among them being Kentaro Hiroshi and Riki Nagakura. Kawazu would become good friends with Akane and was initially bitter about her and Kentaro's relationship, though soon realized it was best to squander any feelings for the woman. Kawazu would be the only one to realize Akane's disappearance from Horiwari, although he was unaware of her intentions therafter.
During the events of the Collapse, Kawazu managed to survive the brunt of it through the assistance of his instructors. The instructor that had managed to save Kawazu was Maki Zhijun, leaving Kawazu mortally injured in the wake of the new world. Later, through the efforts of Kentaro and Akiye, Kawazu's life was saved. Kawazu was indebted to the duo and accordingly allied with their cause, acting primarily as a Spy for the majority of his time in the Six Directions.
Upon the arrival of Anko Amatsuki as the Head Researcher, Kawazu realized where his talents would best come to use. After some discussion, he and Anko founded the Kigyōrengō, with Kawazu acting as Anko's second-in-command and the primary Field Researcher for the collection of more ubiquitous data.
