Kōkichi Sengoku (戦国浩吉, Sengoku Kōkichi) is a Shinigami, the First Head of the Sengoku Clan, and a retired member of the Royal Guard, holding the title "Harbinger of War" (前兆軍, Zenchōgun).

Inventions

• Shinken: Kōkichi developed the concept of Shinken (神剣, Divine Sword), a special class of Zanpakutō utilized by the Noble Houses of Soul Society, though it also includes Sacred Treasures. The Sengoku Clan's Shinken, Konjaku Monogatarishū, was the first Shinken created from his own Zanpakutō.

Powers & Abilities

Master Swordsmith: As the creator behind the Shinken class of Zanpakutō, Kōkichi possesses knowledge of Zanpakutō rivaling that of Oetsu Nimaiya. While not as skilled at reforging Zanpakutō as Oetsu, he fully capable of converting a Zanpakutō into a Shinken. He is skilled enough that he can create Shinken with a desired ability, such as the Shinken utilized by the Noble Houses. He also restored Sōkyoku to pristine condition after it was previous destroyed. He is noted of creating all Shinken within Soul Society.

Master Tactician and Strategist:

Shinken Sense: Kōkichi knows the location, release commands, capabilities and curses of every Shinken he has ever forged, regardless of whomever has wielded them.

Ōken: As a previous member of the Royal Guard, Kōkichi has the Ōken imparted in his bones, which grants him the ability to travel into and out of the Soul King Palace, as well as grant permission to others simply by willing it.
