Izayoi Kawahiru (河昼十六夜, Kawahiru Izayoi) is a female Soul who wandered the Rukongai. She was found by Shingi Kawahiru, who actually had given her a name and a "birthday". She now resides within the Seireitei, and is an active member of the Fourth Division.

Despite her past, Izayoi is a cheerful young soul. She's attracted to cute things, and thinks that Shingi is the cutest thing ever. This is probably because he appears to be young. She seemingly favors the colors pink and silver, white to an extent, over any other colors. A theory which Shingi came to during her spring shopping. She also has a natural hate towards bullies, probably due to the experiences she had prior to meeting Shingi.
Her joyous personality can bring smiles to even the most down of faces. Shingi has even stated that Izayoi is what keeps him together, her spirit that is. Izayoi likes to give nicknames to those that she has a close relation, or even a positive feeling towards.
