Inori Hisha (飛車 祈り, Hisha Inori) is a member of the Royal Guard and holds the epithet "Raven Eater" (鴉食い, Karasu-gui). She is one of the few members who actually do not own a palace, but rather shares it with her partner Okuni Kōkai. Despite her childish appearance, Inori is Okuni's senior. Indubitably, she is one of the oldest members of the secret division and was promoted several hundred years prior to Okuni's recruitment. She possesses an infamy which still haunts the present Seireitei. Her epithet is derived from this very event, where she decided to eat her own Zanpakutō in order to gain more power. The aftereffects of the swallowing are unknown, but resulted in a vast explosion which destroyed the Fifth Division barracks and some of the surrounding area as well. The incident cost the lives of the majority of the members of the Fifth Division, including the one of the lieutenant. As such, she was initially ordered to be imprisoned in the Maggot's Nest by Central 46, but was instead promoted into the Royal Guard. Why the King of Souls decided to spare her, is also unknown at the moment, but it is implied that Inori was promoted because of her destructive potential and the discovery of something revolutionary.
It is believed that that Inori changed because of this event. Intially, she did in fact know how to act appropriate and fulfilled her duties as a Captain. But after the incident, it would appear as if her personality regressed into the one of a child. However, she has displayed certain depths when something is required of her, hinting that she is perhaps not as immature as she initially wants people to believe. Together with Okuni, she was tasked with monitoring the Human World and was ordered to interfere if something extraordinary was to happen.
