Hekigenkai (劈限定, Burst Limit) is a transformation technique unique to Kentaro Hiroshi.

Description[]

Hekigenkai is a transformation used by Kentaro by utilizing the Hollow powers coursing through his body, which originated from Averian's spiritual power.[1] By doing this Kentaro undergoes a bodily transformation not unlike that of an Arrancar's Resurrección.[2] The level of alteration and power revealed depends on the stage used; thus far Kentaro has demonstrated mastery of two of the three stages at his disposal.[3]

Mastery over these transformations are determined by dedication and practice. When he used the Second Stage in his battle with Shinzo he was drained almost completely upon victory,[3] though he later used it in his battle with Ryan without displaying the fatigue which earlier hampered him.[4]

Kentaro's initial stage

Hekigenkai: Stage One.

The first stage of Hekigenkai, which is the weakest used thus far in terms of enhancement but the best in terms of energy requirement to maintain, causes Kentaro's hair to lengthen and black markings to appear on his neck and shoulders. This form heightens Kentaro's physical and spiritual abilities to the point he could throw the colossal multi-story-tall warrior conjured by Nakajima Kōhai's Bankai with little effort, whilst boosting his power to the point he could overpower his opponent.[2]

Hekigenkai: Stage Two.

The second stage of Hekigenkai, which seems to be Kentaro's favoured form over all and the most used of the three, improves upon the physical and spiritual enhancements of the first stage by quite considerable margins.[3] This stage causes his skin pigment to darken and a pair of hand-shaped wings to erupt from his back. Once mastered the power-output and enhancement enabled Kentaro to overpower the Sōritsu-enhanced Ryan Kuchiki with little effort.[3][4]

Hekigenkai: Stage Three.

In addition to the first and second stage of Hekigenkai there exists a third stage which Kentaro has only unveiled once in a specialized sparring match with Kensei Muguruma, who noted that Kentaro took a form very close physically to that of Averian himself. The abilities of this particular stage have not yet been shown but Kensei claims that it is capable of incredible destruction. Kenji, who sensed his son taking this form through the seal he once placed on his son, internally noted that it may be "the key"; though what he meant by this is not currently known.
