The Heiwa Period (平和時代, Heiwa Jidai; literally "Era of Peace") was a period in the history of Soul Society, following the Warring Souls Period, in which the King of Souls delegated authority to the Central 46 and the Gotei 13, under the command of Genryūsai Shigekuni Yamamoto, became the sole military power after the extermination of the Quincy.

The name for this era is inspired by the Heian Period (平安時代, Heian Jidai), despite the fact that this era would more strongly reflect that of the Tokugawa Shogunate's rise to power and the tranquility that followed the bloodshed of the previous period of warring states.
