Hadō #54. Haien (廃炎, "Abolishing Flames") is a Kidō spell invented by an unknown sorcerer several centuries ago that has gained notoriety for its unfailing lethality. Being described as a spell that eradicates its targets very existence.
Description[]
When invoked, the flames of Haien typically assume the form of magnificent lavender-colored flames drawn from thin air and sent towards the foe; its beauty is noteable, and this duality of beauty and brutality serves as the cornerstone of its identity.
Scholars are uncertain of who actually devised the spell; for its creation is elegant, efficient and yet surprisingly modest, unbefitting most senior practitioners of Kidō. Nevertheless, the truth of it remains, and that is that Haien is perhaps the deadliest spell devised in the history of Soul Society.
There's no other avenue to employ Haien other than to destroy, and unlike other fire spells such as Shakkaho or Sokatsui, its never been possible to turn it towards another purpose. For this reason, Haien is neither taught nor practiced within the Academy, as no use of it would be in line with teaching, and any accident is almost certain to result in death.
Incantation[]
"O burning child, murderer in the womb; to thee I extend my hand, a fathers grief, your mothers scream -- the river that boils in blood, I beseech thine return, Kagutsuchi!"
