The Guard Division was a military force that answered directly to the Chancellor of Britannia. It was created in the aftermath of the Twelfth Division Rebellion, when the Chancellor saw a great need for a domestic police force to monitor his military units. The division's primary mission was to police the activities of the other divisions within the Royal Guard. The Brute Squad was a sub-division of the Guard Division that executed decisions made by the Chancellor in regards to apprehending rebel individuals. It was led by Karlest Yates.
Despite being called a division, the Guard Division technically was not part of the Royal Guard.
