Gates of the Sun (太陽の門, Taiyō no Mon) are devices which the Wandenreich use to travel quickly throughout the Schatten Bereich and Wahrwelt.[1]
Overview[]
Gates of the Sun resemble metal plates embossed with an ornate compass and a red gemstone set into their center. The plates are set on the ground, which the user steps on or near to when traveling from one location to another. The gates are placed strategically throughout the Schatten Bereich and Silbern. Liltotto Lamperd notes that the coordinates are slightly off when the layout of the town changed after the Wahrwelt was created.[2].
When Sōken Ishida was banished from the Wandenreich he managed to steal a Gate of the Sun, which his son Ryūken Ishida later used to enter the Wahrwelt with Isshin Kurosaki.[3] According to Uryū Ishida, a Sun Gate was set up inside of Silbern to invade the Human World.[1]
Sun Keys[]

Every Sternritter is issued a Sun Key (太陽の鍵, Taiyō no Kagi)[1] which allows them access to the Sun Gates. The Sun Keys resemble large, transparent medallions. To use, the Sun Key must be held up to a Sun Gate.[1]
