Part Twelve (Tara)[]
“Ow! Hey be careful! That hurts!” Keiran exclaimed.
“Well next time don't get so injured then!” I retorted.
We both stared at each other for a while then burst out laughing. He's different now. Ever since he killed that Hollow he's been more talkative and looks happier.
“Wonder what I should do now?” he mused.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“Well ever since my brother died, I've sought to avenge him. Now that I have, what should I do?” he explained, “My family probably thinks I'm dead. I have no idea what happened to my real body.”
He sighed and we were both silent.
“I'm sorry.” he muttered.
“What? What for?” I asked, confused.
“I've probably done the same thing to you. I never thought about your family. How they would react to you being dragged away.” he sighed, “I never once considered what I was doing to you. I could have stayed and protected you. Instead I had to drag you with me so I could keep fighting my stupid crusade.”
That made me angry.
“You listen here. I understand about your whole 'stupid crusade', I would have done the same.” I argued, “When I thought you were going to die, I was scared. I wanted to do something to help you. Even if that just meant dying as well.”
I leaned forward and hugged him.
“You've could have left me alone. You didn't have to keep me with you. You protected me no matter what. I'm truly grateful for that.”
“Tara... as much as I appreciate this, you're crushing my ribs.” he winced.
Oh crap! I got off as quickly as I could. I forgot his ribs were smashed!
“Awww. I wanted to see how far that was going to go.” Kisuke's voice came from the doorway.
Keiran and I both turned to face him, embarrassed.
“As much as I hate to break this up, I have to talk with you Keiran.” he said, “Because when you're fully healed, I have a mission for you.”
