The Five Moons Order is a small organization made up of 105 shinigami that have left the soul society. Their one and only goal is to protect the world of the living.
History
Hikaru Shiba was a member of the Shiba clan when it was still one of the Noble Clans. After Kisuke Urahara was exiled, Hikaru founded the organization with his best friend and first ally, Rentaro Abarai. They ventured through the soul society finding 52 members and left to the World of the Living. In the world of the living, Hikaru finds the 5th moon and sets his plan into action.
Hierarchy
The Five Moons gets it's name from the five leaders of the organization. Each of the Moon's command a division twenty "Swords". The Swords exist simply to carry out their Moon's wishes and act as their messengers.
Ranks
The Moons are organized in a system of weakest to strongest. If a Moon wished to rank up they would challenge the holder of the position they were aiming for. If a Sword wanted to become a Moon they would have to do the same thing. However, for a Sword to become a moon another Moon must bear witness. The only position that is safe from challenges is the First Moon. If the First Moon would become unable to run the organization for whatever reason, the Second Moon would take over. If any of the other Moons wanted the position, they would have to challenge the second moon. After the new First Moon would be sworn in, the other Moons would each move up by one rank and the new First Moon would appoint a new Fifth Moon
