The First Sky (初御空, hatsumisora; Japanese for "Beautiful First Sky on New Year's Day") is a furtive organisation which aims to bring about a fundamental change in the way the Three Realms operate.

The First Sky's base is a large temple-like fortress located in a pocket dimension referred to as "World Between the Walls" (壁の間世, kabenomayo). It is a distinct demiplane fashioned from a Valley of Screams. Techniques such as Descorrer render access possible, but only when its location is known to the one who attempts to travel to the dimension.

The goal of the First Sky is ambitious indeed, if somewhat vague. For the organisation endeavours to establish new world order. But what exactly does it entail, only the Archon knows. And the supreme leader is an enigmatic, clever man. Some of the members intend to exact revenge upon the Soul Society, which has wronged them in one way or another. Others see this as an opportunity to achieve greater status, or improve as individuals. And then there are those who genuinely desire to forge the world into a better place, even if their methodology and vision vary between each individual, sometimes slightly, sometimes wildly.

Whatever the case, the First Sky is an organisation which, on the whole, strives to accomplish its mission through a variety of means; from diplomatic missions, esponiage, and active recruitment up to and including precise usage of lethal force. They shall usher in an era of peace and harmony, whatever the cost.

Organisation

Unlike the Gotei 13 or the Wandenreich, the First Sky is not a large military organisation with granular hierarchy. Rather, it is a tight-knit association of like-minded people who strive toward the same nebulous goal. The Archon is the undisputable leader of the organisation, and Zetsubō is unanimously considered his second-in-command. Although, there are no ranks to officially distinguish seniority between members, which is instead based on respect that stems from individual merit, experience, and power.

Each member of the First Sky is expected to be an independent agent, furthering its cause to the best of one's abilities. Whilst this entails flexibility, all of them are typically assigned a role determined by their skillset, and undertake tasks accordingly.

Trivia

• The first incarnation of the organisation was a magocracy composed primarily of Kidō Corps members, and possessed of substantial military power. This version, though, while retaining similar goals and associated secrecy, is far more compact and individualist.
