House Tepes is a prominent House in Reikon Kyuuban society who are loyal to Myst Kagekyo, and founded by the Elder Vlad. Whilst Vlad's son, Gengetsu, was intended to be the Heir to House Tepes, and his daughter, Zaleska, was intended to inherit his position in the Thirteen Dracula, Zaleska ended up being named the successor to both posts following Gengetsu's death. Their current place of residence is an opulent mansion on the outskirts of Naruki City.

Overview[]

House Tepes was one of the earliest Houses in Reikon Kyuuban society, as Vlad himself was of the first generation, stemming from Katsumi Scarlet herself. Vlad himself has been described as old even amongst his fellow Elders, and was favoured by Katsumi specifically, for they were lovers.[1] Additionally, Vlad and his House were highly regarded for the role they played in peacefully ending the Reikon Kyuuban-Shinigami War and, at the same time, defying the orders of the Dark Council. True to his title as "Ruler", Vlad was pivotal in stopping the complete fragmentation of the Fushi Coven and a disastrous scenario involving The Fallen.[2] Not only was the House considered prestigious, Vlad himself, as one of the earliest Reikon Kyuuban, was aware of many of the secret edicts handed down by Katsumi, such as the withdrawal of House Argent from wider Reikon Kyuuban society, and what their mission entailed.[3]

Personnel and Facilities[]

As the Head of a Great House, Vlad has a wealth of resources and manpower at his beck and call.[4] This includes warriors,[2] spies,[5] and servants.[1]

Wards[]

  • Siegfried Adler -- a Quincy with a notable Presas lineage. He bore witness to Gengetsu's final moments, having earlier been healed by Gengetsu,[6] and delivered his collection of blood vials to Vlad.[7]

Servants[]

  • Kayne (ケイン) -- an elderly man who resides in Vlad's Naruki City mansion. He is the Head of Vlad's servants, and is intimately acquainted with a number of notable Reikon Kyuuban, chief amongst them Myst Kagekyo. Additionally, he can tell what Vlad desires through mere body language.[1]

Warriors[]

  • Kismet (キズメット) -- Kismet is a young warrior, female, and one of Zaleska's proteges. Uniquely, Kismet is a hybrid: part Reikon Kyuuban and part Presas, making her one of the so-called "Vampire-Werewolf hybrids" shown in modern media. She was one of the warriors sent out by Vlad to kidnap Akira Hiroshi, a task she and her contemporaries completed swiftly, descending on the young Visored amidst a power cut in bat form.[1] Additionally, she serves Vlad personally on occasion, but lacks Kayne's manners, and, in Akira's words, she regarded him "as warmly as one would the excrement on their shoe".[5] Kayne describes her as "trouble". Additionally, she and Siegfried shared a mutual attraction.[7]

Facilities[]

As an Elder of an immortal race, not to mention one who is considered old even amongst his contemporaries, Vlad has a large collection of property and facilities. For example, Myst referred to Naruki City as being "Vlad's city".[1]

  • Naruki City mansion -- an opulent mansion on the outskirts of Naruki City, and Vlad's primary residence. The mansion is home to many of his personal servants, and is traditionally used by Vlad as a secure meeting place.[1]
  • Soul Society facility -- vaguely commented upon. Vlad has spies in seemingly every level of society to monitor the Shinigami, all coordinated from a secure and secret facility in Soul Society.[1]

Author's notes[]

Behind the scenes[]

  • Outside the Bleach: War for the King's Seal continuity, House Tepes is extinct. In what could best be described as a lover's tiff, Katsumi sealed Vlad away and executed his descendants. Ironically, only Vlad himself survived.
