Evolución
Technique Type Empowerment
User Averian & his Fracción

Evolución (進化, Evolution) is a technique born of Averian's usage of the Soul-splitting ability used by Trillizos, mixed with his control over reishi and blood, all of which he gained through his Devourer of Souls (霊食い, Reikui; Literally meaning "Soul-Food") ability. It is not an ability that empowers Averian personally, but empowers others, chief amongst them his Fracción.

Overview[]

Evolución is a derivative of the Soul-splitting ability Averian acquired from Trillizos with aspects of a Quincy's reishi control and Gengetsu's innate blood control coming together to create something new.[1] Averian marked a follower with his blood, split off some of his own power, and then imparted it to the recipient through reishi manipulation, in a manner not unlike Yhwach's ability to grant his Quincy followers a Schrift.[2]

Unlike Resurrección, which returns an Arrancar to their original Hollow form and unlocks their offensive abilities,[3] Evolución merely enhances what already exists, with no additional powers being granted.[4] As such, it is similar to a Visored donning their Mask, for it drastically increases the user's power.[5] Furthermore, it has been likened to the form assumed by Grand Fisher in his Arrancar state, for it enlarges the user and increases their innate capacities similarly.[6]

When used by Clarion, the latter was described as being enhanced and empowered by Averian's reiatsu, resulting in a denser carapace, heightened physical and spiritual capacities, and keener senses. This enhancement could be accessed in stages, with the bare minimum of access being described as a "hint" of Averian's power enhancing Clarion's own.[7] When Clarion accessed more, Shiratori noted that Clarion's reiatsu felt layered, as if Averian himself was standing behind him.[4]

Author's notes[]

Behind the scenes[]

  • In the author's main work, Averian was capable of empowering his followers, creating what he dubbed his "Battle Dolls". The more power he shared with them, the easier it was for him to control them. Evolución uses the basic premise of the aforementioned trait, whilst borrowing elements from Yhwach's use of Schrift and Grand Fisher's "Power Form".

Trivia[]

  • This technique shares its name with a concept shown in Bleach: Brave Souls, which is described as "beyond Resurrección". This is achieved through the Hōgyoku.
