Rider City (ライダー市, Raidā-Shi) is a settlement in the Human World, located in America. Most of the Human World scenes from the series take place in this city.

Overview[]

Rider City is a settlement with high spiritual activity, mirroring Karakura Town in Japan. It boasts a sizable population, around 104,553 living beings. It sits on the banks of a large river, at the foothills of an ancient mountain range.

Rider City seems to be the jurisdiction of the 10th Division.[1] Tadoku Getsueikirite has called the city District 1200 (一千二百区, Issen-Nihyaku Ku), and is noted due to the fact that it is frequently attacked by Menos-level Hollows. Shigenaga Arma also claims to have a branch of his Soul Society black market stationed somewhere in the town.[2] In the second series, it is revealed that Rider City is broken into four districts; North, South, East, and West.

After the events of the Quincy Blood War, several Quincy families relocated to this town.

History[]

Several hundred years ago, Rider City was the site where Seireitou Kawahiru and Hikaru Kurosaki initially decided to reside following their exile from Soul Society, a testament to its age. A young Captain Isshin Shiba was sent here by the Gotei 13 one hundred years after this, where he was nearly killed by the Hollow, Grey.[1]

Sometime after this, MisQ, an organization of Fullbringers, took up residency here, in an attempt to fight back the Shinigami in their own way. They based themselves in Yomiyama Apartments.[3]

During the War of the Worlds, Rider City was damaged extensively by the Tiro con L'arco, the Quincy division of the Impero Nascosto.[4] Six months later, however, it had already been repaired.[2]
