The Crusade Corps (踏査軍 (クルーセード·コー), Kurūsēdo Kō; Japanese for "Survey Campaign") is an organization of Wizards and Witches of the Soul Society West Branch that is devoted to the hunting of Dragons on the outskirts of their governing regions. It is their mission to expand the influence of the West Branch toward territories that are under siege by supernatural threats.
History[]
Although they are regarded as an organization separate from Wing Bind, their leader serves as both the Lord Commander of the Crusade Corps and the Captain of the Scopes squad of Wing Bind as well; linking the two agencies together. This is how it has been for at least five centuries.

The idea behind the Crusade Corps is to emphasize the difference in mentality between the West and the East. While isolation is a prominent aspect of Japanese culture, which is seen in the manner that the East Branch conducts itself, expansion is historically attributed to European culture.
