The Commando Unit, known alternatively as Hisagi's Commando Unit, and formerly as the Muguruma Commando Unit, was a specialized team that existed in the hierarchy of the 9th Division in the Gotei 13. Originally founded by Kensei Muguruma, the unit consisted of himself, his Lieutenant, and a number of high-ranking Seated officers. The unit was defunct under Kaname Tōsen before being revived under Shūhei Hisagi.
Organization[]
During Kensei's Captaincy, the Commando Unit was led personally by Kensei himself, and consisted of himself, and several seated officers trusted by Kensei. They were known specifically for their synchronicity and coordinated attacks.[1] Unfortunately, this version of the unit met with disaster during the Konpaku Disappearance Case in Rukongai, c. 1900, and it wasn't revived by Kaname Tōsen.[2] In the wake of Captain Kazuya Kuchiki's murder and the assault on the 9th Division that occurred concurrently, UShūhei Hisagi, in his capacity as acting-Captain, revived the Commando Unit. As was the case with Kensei's version, Hisagi's unit consisted of several seated officers, the sole exception being that the Lieutenant was responsible for the day-to-day running of the unit.[3] By 2019, this was Kenji Hiroshi.
