Catalina Vargas (カタリナ·バルガス, Katarina Barugasu) is an Echt Quincy and a member of the Wandenreich's Sternritter, with the designation "W" - "The World".
Appearance[]
Catalina is a young Hispanic woman of average height and petite build. She has long, straight dark brown hair and light green eyes. The features of her face are delicate and feminine.
Her uniform consists of a cap with the Wandenreich's logo, the standard trenchcoat modified so that it looks more like a dress, and a fairly simple white shirt and skirt worn beneath. She walks barefeet.

Quincy Cross: Similarly to the other Sternrittern, Catalina wields a small silver cross with which she may summon her spiritual weapon. Her cross takes the form of a Budded Cross and is normally attached to a necklace.
Bankai Stealing Device: A seal that takes the form of a simple badge, developed by the Wandenreich as a way to counteract the ultimate weapon of any high level Shinigami. On average they are believed to be able to capture any Bankai that emits a spiritual wavelength above a certain point. The lower that wavelength, the more difficult it is to capture the weapon. In addition to the requirement of a high enough spiritual signature, those who had achieved Bankai Mastery or had an otherwise perfect bond with their Zanpakutō were incapable of having their Bankai stolen.

Expert Marksman: Somewhat paradoxically Catalina is not a true warrior despite being a full-fledged Sternritter. Nonetheless, she has been trained in archery to a satisfactory extent, and as such her shots are adequately accurate for someone of such a high rank. Enhanced Spiritual Awareness: The ability to sense spiritual energy and perceive spiritual beings is a rare skill that primarily manifests in humans after long exposure to a quantity of spiritual energy above a certain point. Due to her inherent connection with nature, Vargas is bestowed with particularly acute spiritual sense which lets her detect minute changes in the spiritual pressure of others. Great Spiritual Power: The spiritual power of High-Spec Humans, even Quincy, is typically much smaller than their spiritual counterparts but it is not a state that is set in stone as made clear by the sheer power presented by Wandenreich's Stern Ritter who were clearly on par, if not above, Shinigami Captains in strength. Unlike many Quincy of the distant past, Catalina possesses a very large amount of internal Reiryoku. Her Reiatsu has a sky blue colour when visible. | |

Reishi Absorption & Manipulation: All spiritually powerful beings utilise Reiryoku when fighting, but they are also paired with secondary aspects in order to create entirely divergent fighting styles and unique abilities. In the case of the Shinigami, they use the spiritual energy generated from their soul alongside a Zanpakutō to combat their enemies; essentially a power from within themselves. In direct contrast the Quincy draw in Reishi from the environment around them in order to form weapons and empower various techniques; a power garnered from the outside. They absorb this energy into their bodies and shape it according to their whims to devastating effect.
The World (世界, Sekai): Catalina's signature ability is to "merge with the world". By manipulating her Reiryoku she might convert her body to match the composition of her environment, thus becoming a part of it in the process. This allows her to turn into a concrete statue or sink into the earth, amongst many other feats[1]. This power grants her a respectable level of mobility and survivability. In addition, she cannot be detected whilst merged with the environment as she technically becomes a part of it for a period of time. Conversely, the ability has little to offer as far as raw attack power is concerned and requires creative thinking to be employed effectively in terms of offence. Hirenkyaku Expert (飛廉脚, lit. "Flying Screen Step/God Step"): Vargas is very fast and nimble, capable of traversing considerable distances within a short timespan or evading quick attacks. However, due to the nature of her Schrift she does not have to rely solely on Hirenkyaku in terms of mobility, so she has not honed her skill in the art to a truly masterful level. | |

Armonía (調和, "Harmony"): Catalina's spiritual weapon takes the form of a baroque bow reminescent of a harp. Ornate and colourful, it does not appear to be threatening on a first glance.
