Group Affiliations[]
Gotei 13[]
During the days of his youth, Braeburn was rather idealistic and patriotic when he joined the Gotei 13, having wanted to been recognized as a hero of the people. His idealistic dreams would be tested when he was looked down on for being a follower of Red Sun, a religion believed to be widely affiliated with cultism. This would eventually be his downfall when in the midst of the Mourning War, his own squadmates severely injured him and left him for dead. He would escape, but his view of the Gotei 13 would be heavily jaded from that point onward, while he himself would be framed as a traitor and a deserter.
In the initial stages of his alliance with Kukkyōna Hayate and Daisuke Hayate, interactions were rather tense - particularly between Daisuke and Braeburn. When Braeburn reveals that he was framed and had not truly turned traitor to Kukkyōna, this seemingly begins to change. Little by little, Braeburn was recognized as a victim of purpose rather than a traitor, although this seemingly takes a lot longer to be recognized by Daisuke. Although he is still no longer a member under the Gotei 13, his position in the Deep Cover Ops allows him to work closely with Gotei 13 operators. However, his ties are once again broken when he is revealed as a spy for the Schwarze Krähen Macht.
Deep Cover Ops[]
Braeburn was accepted into the Deep Cover Ops after he was introduced to them by Hana. Initially a loose ally of them, he eventually became a full member in the time between the Children of Izanami and War of Four arc. Because of their freelancer method of management, his cynical attitude towards the government of Soul Society made him rather welcome. Initially opposing the idea that the D.C.O. were made to be nothing but substitutes for the Gotei 13 when the time came for it, he started to lean towards the idea that such would be an opportunity for him to help change the way the Soul Society was governed. Recently, this attitude may or may not have shifted due to his being revealed as a spy for the Schwarze Krähen Macht.
Schwarze Krähen Macht[]
Braeburn was forcefully recruited into the Schwarze Krähen Macht through the loss of a duel with Berhtram Brandt after a failed raid on their HQ. It is unknown as to what the exact nature of his relationship with the group as a whole is, but he seems to hold great resentment towards Berhtram. At the same time, he will begrudgingly follow the Quincy's orders.
