Aside from written fiction (such as fanfiction and roleplay articles), almost all articles on Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki require the use of an infobox as stated in the Manual of Style. This is to ensure site-wide consistency and article organization. As of August 2023, all users are required to use one of the standard portable infoboxes. Portable infoboxes are considered best practice by both FANDOM and Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki. (Read why here).
(Pages created prior to 2017, or users who have created a majority of their user category articles prior to 2017, are exempted from the portable infobox requirement and may instead use one of the Classic Templates.)
Do NOT create your own custom infoboxes. Rather, if you find that a parameter for additional information is missing from one of infoboxes you want to use (for example, maybe you noticed that "Witch Kit" is missing from the "Hybrid Infobox" and would like to use that for your character's infobox), please contact staff and together we can discuss whether it is a good idea to add that parameter to the standard infobox(es).
Helpful Tips[]
- Infoboxes use some basic code, so keep in mind that the labels need to match the spelling, capitalization, and pluralization exactly for the parameter to show up. For example, if you said "Zanpakutou" instead of "zanpakuto," that info will not appear on the infobox. Make sure the labels are identical to the template page!
- The color of most portable infoboxes on this wiki can be customized: Just make sure that the spelling for the info you add after the "theme" parameter matches the color's name exactly. Available colors are listed on that template's page. If an infobox's color isn't set it will default to a gray gradient.
The easiest way to add an infobox to your article is to copy the gray box in the "Template Usage" section of a template page and paste it onto your article in Source Edit mode. For example, on the Template:Shinigami Infobox, the text you would copy-paste looks like:
