There are many articles on Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki which predate the Project:Manual of Style as it currently exists. As such, we consider it to be bad faith to enforce the current ruleset on articles which may have been acceptable in the past but have since fallen below this site's acceptable level of editing standards. In the cases of articles where only minor changes need to be made in order to comply with the current MoS, we have decided to allow any user to edit these articles in order to comply with site standards, typically by: including a property template, reorganizing the heading sections, or adding categories. These articles have tagged them with the "Clean Up" template:
This article, Clean Up, has been tagged by Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki's administration as in need of further editing to comply with site standards. As the changes needed are minor, this is a project you can help with! Please refer to the Manual of Style and Editing Policy to get started. |
Editing Policy[]
- For more information, see: Guide: Editor Guide and the Manual of Style.
If an article has been tagged with the {{Clean Up}} template and/or category, any user may edit the article in order to comply with this site's Manual of Style and Editing Guide(s). Once an article has been cleaned up, notify a member of the admin team so that the clean up tag can be removed. Acceptable edits include:
- Changing the format of the page including infobox coding, table format, section header order, and any required templates
- Editing grammar and spelling without changing the content or original meaning of the article's text
- Adding categories
- Renaming image files to be relevant to the page they are in use on
- Consolidating tabbed pages into a single mainspace article
- Writing an intro paragraph for the article if one is missing
- Changing full links to shortened hyperlinks using link templates
Unacceptable edits include:
- Adding original content to a preexisting article
- Deleting large sections of an article which would dramatically change the length or content of the article
- Creating new categories for a preexisting article: categories already in-use on the wiki must be used
- (The exception is creating a user name category if/when one does not exist)
- Removing images that do not violate the Image Policy
Manual of Style Violations[]
If in the process of cleaning up an article a user determines that the changes needed to make the article comply with the Manual of Style exceed the acceptable edit list and/or are overly burdensome for the user's time/effort they may contact staff and request the Clean Up tag to be changed to an MoS violation tag. In that case, the original article creator has one week to make the necessary changes to the article before its deletion.
If in the process of cleaning up an article the original article creator becomes active on the wiki, they may request the clean up editor to stop making changes. In that case, the clean up tag will be changed to an MoS violation tag, and the original article creator has one week to make the necessary changes to the article before its deletion.
