Statement of Purpose[]
Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki distinguishes itself from its parent site, the Bleach wiki. We are a fanfiction and fanon wiki, not a canon wiki. Therefore, it is not our intention to in anyway subvert the efforts of the Bleach wiki by becoming a main source of canon documentation, and as such we fully support the Bleach wiki by:
- Linking to the Bleach wiki when canon pages are referenced on our fanfiction and fanon articles
- Redirecting main name space articles of canon concepts and characters to the Bleach wiki (See: Category:Disambiguation pages) in an attempt to avoid Google and search result "algorithm gaming"
- Attributing credit to the Bleach wiki whenever content from the parent site has been used
- Promoting the Bleach wiki by linking to its articles via our community platforms, such as our Discord server
However, the Bleach wiki does not document all canon content. As such, Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki has opted to include on its site those few canon articles which have insufficient information provided on the parent wiki or are missing altogether, especially including:
- Light novel information and content
- Terminology pages
- Klub Outside answers to fan lore-related questions
- (Generally speaking, the fanfiction wiki considers the above to be canon content, while the Bleach wiki has a different consensus on their canon status.)
The purpose of documenting these pages here is not to supplant the information on the Bleach wiki, but for convenience in providing fans the canon information they may be searching for. At other times, the fanfiction wiki has created redirect articles for terminology which does not have a separate page on the Bleach wiki, such as Witches and Wizards. Whenever possible, the canon pages on the fanfiction wiki are redirected to the page where the main Bleach wiki's information on the topic can be found. Any canon article on the Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki has been designated with the Canon Content template:
This article, Canon Content is considered to be canon material as it contains only information related to the original Bleach series and does not contain fanon or fan fiction elements. |
Editing Policy[]
With exception to the instructions that are discussed in the sub-sections that follow, Canon Articles are held to the same standard of quality as Standard Articles. Please be sure to read the sections on Page Content, Vandalism & Language, Page Edits, Image Policy, Page Creation, and Moving Pages that are described in the above section before editing a canon page.
"Is it necessary?" | Before you create any Canon Articles on Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki, ask yourself: "is it necessary?" In other words, you have to ask yourself if there is a need for our site to document certain information. First and foremost, we are a fanon and fanfiction wiki, and as such, it is not our job to document factual information. We only do this in circumstances where the information is not readily available, in order to make it easier for our own users and people who visit the site to read up on said content. Before anything, check to make sure the official Bleach Wiki does not possess an article on the subject you were considering, and if they do, only consider making an Canon Article on that subject if their page is inadequate or contains inaccurate information. After that, ask yourself if the article in question is in itself necessary. Certain topics might not be necessary for an entire article to be dedicated to it. |
Admin Permission | Once a need has been determined for a certain Canon Article, you must obtain permission from an admin of the Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki before creating them. Canon Articles created without permission will be deleted indiscriminately, no exceptions. If the article is meant to be a personal Standard Article but contains Canon content that makes it easily viewed as a Canon Article, make sure it possesses proof of ownership (name in parentheses in the title and a user property tag in the article) or else it could be mistaken as a Canon Article and therefore may be deleted.
If an Canon Article currently exists, and has not been locked by an admin, you are allowed to edit it without requiring permission so long as all policies on this page are followed. |
Canon Template | All Canon Articles on Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki must possess the Canon template. Add {{Canon}} to the top of any Canon Article if you are creating a new one or if a Canon Article was created without one. Any Canon article without one is subject for deletion. |
Canon Images | The image policy for Canon Articles follows the same rules as the Standard Article image policy for the Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki, with a few notable addendums that are listed below.
|
Referencing Content | All Canon Articles must possess a "References" section in addition to all significant page sections that are detailed in Standard Articles -> Page Content -> Sections.
Because the content of the Canon Articles are, as named, meant to portray factual content from official Bleach media, it is important that there be clear reference as to where the information has been acquired. It should be written as simple as possible to make the source very clear to whoever may read the article. Start with the broad source: is it from the manga, the anime, a light novel, et cetera? Then, specify from which part of the source it was obtained. For the anime, it should be the episode number. For the manga, it should be the chapter number and, preferably, followed by the page number as well. For a light novel, please indicate which chapter or part from the light novel the material is sourced from. Other sources, such as databooks or author comments, can be left broadly sourced. An example is provided below.
Note: Please be sure to include the References section with the code, <references/>, in said section. |
Admins have Final Say | Canon Articles are made in service to the Bleach Fan Fiction Wiki. They are created with the intention of documenting significant Bleach content that is otherwise not readily available elsewhere. As such, these are articles that are entirely under the control of the administration. They have final say on any decisions made regarding them. This includes the article itself, the written content, and the images added to said article. Any decision made by an admin to change or remove content from these articles is final. While you are more than welcome to make a case for why an admin's decision should be reconsidered or overturned, anything that amounts to flame wars, edit conflicts, and uncivil behavior will be viewed as harassment. Any attempt to argue or challenge these decisions in a way that can be viewed as harassment will be met with a warning first and then a suitable ban from the site depending upon the nature of the offense.
Again: it is not our job to document information. We are not Bleach Wiki. The only reason why we have Canon Articles at all is to document obscure information for ease of access. So do not give the administration a hard time about decisions made regarding these articles, because they shouldn't exist here at all to begin with. |
