Black (ブラック, Burakku) is an experimental Hollow created by Girado Riendo Mariposa from his own soul.
Appearance[]
Black is a positively gigantic Hollow that somewhat resembles a bipedal lizard. It has a large near-rectangular head that is forward facing in its design. The head is covered by a white axe-shaped Hollow mask, with the axe-head covering over its nose and rising upward as an impromptu horn, with two other spikes behind it in descending size, behind that is its brow, ribbed with a very thin row of spikes pointing backwards from their top. There are very small insets in either side of its mask for Black's tiny yellow eyes. Its jaw is largely covered in ribbed parts with two large spikes at the front with flesh-like protrusions at the back with bone-like spikes emerging from them. Visible beneath the mask are the corners of Black's actual mouth, coloured with a grey tone. It has a great many teeth though each of them are unusually small considering the creature's size. There are a further set of bone-like spikes on its upper jaw, behind the eye and a singular one atop the crown of its head with starts a chain of a multitude of spikes leading down Black's neck and back. White plating covers the back of its neck in a hood as well as most of its back and extending over its shoulders in a set of four ribbed plates, resembling pauldrons, and three flat plates over its upper legs that resemble waist armour. Its arms and legs are black-skinned with carapace-like plating on the back of the left forearm, each hand has four digits with sharp in-curving claws. Its legs have plating on the lower leg with the left leg having extra plating on the sides of the leg and the right only donning the front and back portions, additionally the left foot has four digits and as many claws where as the right foot only has two digits and claws, though they are larger in order to make up for this. Much of the front of Black's body consist of a grey toned flesh in a descending ribbed style, its chest puffing out ahead of the rest of the body slightly. The Hollow hole is present here, at the bottom of its ribs. A massive tail extends out of Black's hind quarters, its upper half covered by white plating and bone-like spikes whilst its lower portion is blackened like its arms and legs, further its tail ends in a large armoured club with blunted spikes surrounding it.
Personality[]
Black is a highly destructive creature, appearing to be in a constant state of rampage. Like the typical Hollow, it acts solely based on its instincts and seeks out what it percieves to be the weakest of potential opponents first, ridding itself of the small fry before moving upwards in a successive order. The creature was once capable of some form of rationality, at a time obeying Girado's commands without issue, its time in Hell has since led to its degradation and it no longer appears capable of any rational thought, at the same time it no longer appears to remember its creator and considers him just as much of a threat as anything else. Likewise it does not respond to the voices of others, whether attempting to provoke it or otherwise calm it down.

Powers & Abilities[]

Gargantuan Strength: On the count of its massive size, Black is capable of terrifying feats of physical power. A single step from Black can cause massive tremors beneath the earth, and almost certainly crushes anything caught underfoot. Its tail has enough strength to cause the collapse of a mountain once struck, its arms could also effortlessly swat away opponents, even those severely augmented by Reiryoku, as was the case with Branunn Sölmundsdóttir, a single strike launching the Captain across an entire cityscape. Buildings and landmasses are easily destroyed by its strength, requiring little effort, and when using the full extent of this might Black can even inflict damage upon a Bankai with sheer brute force. Immense Durability: Though much of its defense can be attributed to the armour plating it adorned, the scales beneath it are powerful and difficult to damage on their own. It took multiple Bankai to break through pieces of its armour, and the same held true for inflicting damage on its flesh, with anything of a lower level of power going completely unnoticed by the collosal being. Attacks against it of a physical nature also tend to result in "feedback", Branunn Sölmundsdóttir noted that each of her strikes on Black's body resulted in proportional damage being inflicted upon the gauntlets of her Bankai, Kūkiryū Tensenkō.
Immense Spiritual Power: Black's spiritual power is positively enormous, such that it is considered a threat to the balance of souls just by virtue of existing at all. The range at which its presence can be felt is considerable, to the point that an entire city was considered to be in close proximity to it even at a distance of several kilometers, the weight of it spiritual power is such that it killed the population of that same city, exhausting them of energy through the strain and then extinguishing their souls. Lower ranked Shinigami and Hollows were left incapable of moving such a dense field of Reiatsu. Those capable of withstanding it described the spiritual energy as extremely oppressive, it forcably draws out the Reiatsu of others only to batter it down, leading to a visual effect of oval-shaped auras of spiritual energy around those near Black, it is believed the strength of its Reiryoku, and Reiatsu, have staved off its transformation into a Togabito somehow. To those with highly perceptive spiritual awareness, Black's Reiatsu felt more like a true physical mass, a moving island as such. Kaede Kiseki felt that the Reiatsu was filled with fear, not a sense of fear that attempted to overtake those sensing it, but Black's own fear. Cero: While Girado has made it clear that Black itself is not a Menos, he believes it is capable of firing a Cero because its soul is a fragment of his own, with Girado having been an Adjuchas-class Hollow at the time of Black's creation. The Cero is a concentrated beam of spiritual energy, an expression of pure power used as a weapon. It is a tool with a great degree of variety, capable of being wielded in a great many ways and with just as much variety in its power output, speed and other technical details. Black uses the power as its primary weapon and with a seeming all encompassing knowledge at that. It is shown to be capable of firing a Cero from nearly any point on its body, even using it to enhance its already monsterous strength by forming one over its arm whilst in motion so that it could both physically strike and hit an opponent with a Cero at the same time. The Cero's fired by Black are typically of a gigantic scale compared to normal Hollows but it is capable of shrinking or enlarging them as it sees fit. It also shows a degree of tactical acumen in its use, charging one Cero for an over-long period of time in order to trick its opponents into believing the speed of the technique to be slower than it truly is. It also likes to ensnare more powerful opponents by having them block, or deflect, a weaker Cero before blasting them with a far more powerful one that they can no longer stop due to being preoccupied by the first attack.
Susurro (音咆 (スサロ), Susaro; Spanish for "Rustle"; Japanese for "Sonic Roar"): What would be a simple shout for others is a devastating ability for Black, its roar filled with latent spiritual energy and disperses into the air as a torrential shockwave, when done passively it creates a shockwave that erupts around Black, it lacks raw physical power in this state, instead it only rumbles the ground but it adversely disrupts the connection of bonds between Reishi which itself effects those caught within, setting Kushanāda on edge and causing humanoid beings to vomit involuntarily. When concentrated, his roar has a less pronounced effect on the spiritual environment but a greater presence in the physical one, acting as a great pressurizing wind that can deal a great amount of destruction to those in its path. It could knock back Seia Tulia Honoria a fair distance in spite of her attempts to push through it and even dispersed the flames of Ryūjin Jakka's Taimatsu technique. Garganta (黒腔 (ガルガンタ), garuganta; Spanish for "Throat", Japanese for "Black Cavity"): Spiritual pathways that link Hueco Mundo to the World of the Living, Black is capable of opening Garganta in order to traverse the spiritual lanes and cross worlds, given its massive size, a single Garganta would take a great length of time to properly widen enough for it to pass through, as such it instead summons multiple of the spiritual gateways at once, where upon they expand until they merge into one gigantic gateway for Black to enter. Artillery Spikes (大砲花穂 (アチレリ・スパイク) Kasui Taihō): The spikes that litter Black's body are capable of being fired high into the air and then coated with an aura of spiritual energy before dropping down on opponents in a powerful and devastating bombardment. The spikes themselves are powerful enough to pierce the body of high-level Shinigami, even killing them in a single blow, the aura intensifies and also converts them into explosives, further increasing their lethal potential. | |

- Black's design is inspired by Godzilla, both being gigantic lizards capable of extraordinary feats and abilities. His name is also inspired by White, a Hollow created from the Soul of a Shinigami by Sōsuke Aizen.
