Template:Shinigami Infobox (Eleventh Division) Benkei Musahsibō (弁慶武蔵坊, Musashibo Benkei), who was regarded famously as Ken (剣, Blade), was the 8th Kenpachi to Captain the 11th Division in the Gotei 13. He was also formerly known as Genbu (玄武, Black Tortoise).
Appearance[]
Benkei was easily one of the larger Shinigami of his generation; both in terms of height and build. He was often described as a "mountain of a man" by his peers and was reputed to have the strength and speed of a runaway freight train going full pelt down the track.[1] He has shoulder length blond hair he normally doesn't look after, giving him a somewhat rugged appearance. During his captaincy of the 11th Division he always went bare-chest beneath his white haori.
Personality[]
Benkei is a man whose presence cannot be ignored for his personality is as large as his frame. He laughs loudly and often and is prone to bursts of violence and intimidation, often going to excess during times of conflict of training.[1] Whilst tutoring Ran he would often belittle the younger Shinigami with taunts and demonstrations of his own superior strength, though it can be argued he does this to give himself a greater psychological edge over his opposition.
