Asahi Takahashi is a Shinigami who serves as the 11th Seat for the Ninth Division as well as a journalist and author for the Seireitei Communication.
Appearance[]
Asahi is 1.68m (5ft 6in) tall with an average build. he has black hair with green eyes. He wears the standard shihakusho with a sleeveless black kosode.
Personality[]
Asahi is a very curious individual, always wanting to know anything with regards to everything. This usually leads to him falling asleep in the library or asking questions galore, even to his enemies and his superiors, provided he is given the proper opportunity to do so and he has background information about the person in question or the topic at hand.
Aside from his need to know, Asahi is very casual and relaxed, often doing whatever he needs to get done and enjoying himself afterwords. He likes to make his fellow shinigami laugh and smile by whatever means necessary, from telling jokes to making a fool of himself. If he knows that a certain action will result in a smile from those he cares for, or he knows that they are having a rough time, he will not hesitate to do it.
Asahi does not like combat and only uses it as a very last resort. He would rather speak with his enemy than attack them and have both parties come to a ceasefire.
History[]
Born in the RukongaI, Asahi liked to wander around the fields whenever he was finished with all his worked work. He was living a fairly average life until he met a Vasto Lorde. Not knowing that Vasto Lordes were even a thing and simply believing that Gillians were the strongest that there was, he approached the hollow. The two were at first certain that the other was a threat, but then came to a mutual understanding and had a conversation about the Vasto Lorde's history. The Vasto Lorde even demostrated some of it's abilities.
Once the 2 had parted ways. Asahi wanted to know more, not just about hollows, but about everything, leading him to become a Shinigami and Journalist to look into anything that he finds interesting.
Equipment[]
Notepad and pen: Asahi jots down whatever piques his curiosity on a notepad.
Temporary items: if Asahi knows who he is about to battle beforehand and has enough background knowledge on his opponent and their weaknesses, he will take whatever piece of equipment he needs to prepare himself.
Powers and Abilities[]
Expert Swordsman Asahi is well versed with a sword, being very quick to strike and to dodge.
Kido practitioner Asahi knows various mid level kido spells, but still needs to use incantations for most of them.
Investigative Ability Asahi can do lots of research about a certain topic or person in a short amount of time and uncover many things that most would prefer to stay hidden.
Interrogation Ability: Should Asahi know a lot about a person or a topic he can extract tons of information, rarely having to resort to violence.
Strategist: Asahi can use any information about his opponent or the environment to his advantage in various creative ways.
Zanpakutō[]
Chishiki Ōkui (知識大食い Knowledge Glutton) is a regular Katana with a green hilt, oval guard and "事実" (fact) etched into both sides of the blade
Shikai: the release command for Chishiki Ōkui is consume (消費する/Shōhi suru) the blade itself does not change in any way, shape or form, so there is no difference in terms of appearance between the sealed form and the shikai.
Shikai special ability: the main ability is to gain understanding of whatever it touches. if it is held up into the air then Asahi knows the properties of whatever element is touching the blade. the more time something is on the blade and the higher quantity of whatever is on the blade, the Asahi knows of it's properties. If someone's blood is on the blade while it is in Shikai state, Asahi will gradually know more about what said individual, their capabilities, their weaknesses, any sort of hidden attacks, etc.
Weaknesses and Limitations[]
Time: Just because someone's blood is on the blade, it doesn't mean that Asahi knows everything instantly. He is someone who learns over time, especially if it's just a drop of blood on the blade or there is a ton of information to collect
No combat benefits: Asahi's Zanpakutō does nothing to boost his combat skills, meaning that in a fight, he only has his swordsmanship,kido, wits and (maybe) some equipment.
Old blood: Asahi only learns about an opponents abilities at the time of the opponent's blood left their body, meaning that if Asahi got an opponent's blood on his zanpakutō and his opponent learned a new technique such as Bankai, Segunta Etapa, etc or even just got stronger in general, Asahi would not know of it.
