Apatía (アパシーア, Apashīa; Spanish for "Apathy") was a Vasto Lorde and a general of the Legión de la Oscuridad, serving under Tinieblas.
Appearance[]
Apatía is a short and sickly thin humanoid Hollow with a pale blue skin[1]. Her mask obscures most of her upper face and vaguely resembles a veil.
Personality[]
Characterised by extreme callousness, coldness and ruthlesness, Apatía fully deserves her moniker. She remains unperturbed in most situations, even during combat, and rarely as much as widens her eyes[2][3].
In battle, she advances relentlessly, slaying any enemies who happen to cross her path virtually casually. She acts stoically most of the time, even when killing her opponents[2].
Plot[]
Apatía, along with her six "siblings", has been personally chosen by Tinieblas as one of the candidates to become Vasto Lorde. She has been trained and nurtured together with the others, and eventually has achieved the pinnacle of natural Hollow evolution[4].
During the Dark War she leads the ultimate Hollow offensive on the Seireitei, using her special ability to pass through the Shakonmaku and summon the forces inside the city. Subsequently, she encounters four Gotei 13 Lieutenants: Motoko Manihōrudo, Kana Enodoriko, Ryū Suijōki and Hibiki Sasuyōna.
After the officers kill most of the lesser Hollows in the area, Apatía pushes Manihōrudo back and engages all of them in combat. Despite their best efforts, the arrival of Hatsuharu Yamashita and a clever tactic, she seems to incessantly hold the upper hand in the fight.
Eventually, Apatía kills Sasuyōna and severely injures Suijōki. Just as the battle appears to be nearly lost, Lieutenant Chōjirō Sasakibe arrives and engages her. With the help of the remaining officers, he activates his Bankai and overwhelms the atypically shocked Apatía with a barrage of powerful lightning bolts, killing her[3].
Powers and Abilities[]

Apathy: Apatía's special ability revolves around "ignoring things". Consequently, she can pass through powerful barriers[1], create strong barriers which easily deflect Shikai techniques of several Lieutenant-level opponents[3], and teleport in the blink of an eye. Additionally, she can use the barriers offensively by making them explode[2]. Hierro: Presumably empowered by her Apathy, her Hierro is fairly durable; she has not been cut by any of the direct hits she sustained while without her barrier[2]. However, she cannot withstand an extended assault of Bankai-level attacks[3]. Bala: Her Bala blasts possess a fair amount of power, enough to send a Lieutenant flying on a point-blank hit[2]. They are also so fast even expert Shunpo users have trouble evading them[3]. Cero: Furthermore, Apatía can fire a quite powerful Cero. The beam is sufficiently powerful to destroy several buildings in its path and still explode afterward[3]. Sonído Practitioner: Since it is a natural ability of all advanced Menos, she is presumed to possess some extent of Sonído capability, even though she has not displayed it in combat. | |

Enhanced Strength: Despite her frail appearance, Apatía is astonishingly strong, as she is able to block sword cuts with her bare hands and subsequently grapple nearly effortlessly with a few Lieutenants[2]. Great Spiritual Power: Apatía's spiritual power is deathly cold and overwhelming, voluminous enough to intimidate Gotei 13 Lieutenants[1]. It has a grey hue. | |
