Hadō #80. Aoikyūtai (青い球体, lit. "Blue Sphere") is one of the few water-elemental Kidou spells known among the Central 198.
Overview[]
Affixing their attention to a point above the target, the caster condenses ambient reishi into a massive sphere of water overhead of the target which then proceeds to fall down with the force of a tidal wave, washing away all opposition in its path and spreading a large gathering of enemies all about. Due to the spells immense scope, it is capable of toppling buildings if properly cast and was initially designed as large-scale tool of devastation. Although this devastation was indescriminate and as such one might freely regulate the amount of water present in the sphere before it connects with its target.
Nowadays its commonly manifested as a massive orb of water that strikes the target as a projectile, bursting upon contact with an enemy and destroying them with the titanic pressure of the spell; their bodies being torn apart by many conflicting currents pulling in opposing directions all at once.
Its particularly favored by those who already possess water-themed abilities, for it invariably creates a massive amount of reishi-enriched water where it lands, which a clever user of a water-type Zanpakutō might find an indispensable boon.
