Anzan Iyashikaranu is a Shinigami and a member of the Dark Shifters under Shikyo Fushiawase, serving as the sixth in command. Several hundred years prior to this he served as the Lieutenant of the 5th Division under Captain Sentaro Miyamoto; however, he later betrayed the Soul Society and waged war on it, instigating the Jaded War, along with his army of traitorous Shinigami, which lasted for roughly 50 years. After the war ended, Anzan was to be executed via Sokyoku, and would have been if it wasn't for Shikyo Fushiawase secretly saving him. He then, to repay his debt, went on to join the Dark Shifters.
