Anosuke Delgado (魂眞 • デルガド, Anosuke Derugado), sometimes called Del (デル, Deru), is a member of The Guard and the most loyal to Seiji Kanajo. He is in possession of one of Kisuke Urahara's lost Reishi Visualization Charms.
Appearance[]
Anosuke is a tall muscular man with tan skin, messy black hair that reaches past his shoulders, and black eyes. He wears a white t-shirt with the sleeves rolled up, blue jeans with a brown belt, and brown boots. He also has two earrings in his right ear and three metal bracelets on right arm with a wristband on his left arm. His RVC is worn as a dark pair of sunglasses.
When he was a teenager his hair was a bit shorter and he had part of it pulled back into a small ponytail. He wore a school uniform consisting of a white button up shirt and black slacks.
Personality[]
Anosuke is a man of few words. He rarely speaks up first and tends to keep his thoughts to himself unless spoken to. Even then he usually says only what he deems necessary to say. He is seen as rather mysterious by others for this, but in actuality he only does it to counteract his terrible habit of rambling. When alone he usually lets this habit loose and ends up constantly talking to himself. While he tries to be quiet about it, he is often overheard anyway, much to his embarrassment.
He is also very patient and considerate of others. He lets Nichiya voice his frustrations without interruption unlike Shuya and Bia. He also allows Ritsu to have time to speak during their short confrontation, even initially requesting they swap opponents so Anosuke won't be fighting a child.
Anosuke is a bit gullible and overly trusting at times. He acknowledges it as a problem and claims he just doesn't often consider the possibility of someone lying or trying to trick him. While trusting Seiji has done much good for him, trusting the likes of his stepfather, Bia, and Shuya have had terrible consequences for him.
He tends to be a night owl, hating mornings and struggling to be productive during the day since he works and sleeps in a bar. He usually misses any meetings with The Guard when they happen earlier in the day.
History[]
Anosuke was born in the Philippines to a Filipino father and Japanese mother. His father died when he was six in a work related accident and so his mother moved back to Tokushima, Japan shortly after. Unable to find satisfactory work and with Anosuke having trouble in school, she moved them further up north to Fukushima. There, she met and fell in love with another man who she married rather quickly.
Anosuke's stepfather ended up being a cruel man who beat his mother and constantly berated him. Still struggling in school, Anosuke was forced to stay at the table and finish his schoolwork before he was allowed to go to bed, causing him immense exhaustion the next morning. He developed a terrible habit of falling asleep in class, which only netted him punishment at school as well.
When he was sixteen, Anosuke came home late from school one day to find his mother dead on the kitchen floor. His stepfather was frantically running around the house packing things and claimed robbers broke in and killed her when they realized someone was still home. While that was a lie, Anosuke wanted to believe him and tried to call emergency services. His stepfather stopped him and claimed they could be in danger still so they had to leave immediately. Anosuke reluctantly packed up a few belongings and went with him.
They both traveled up north to Hokkaido where his stepfather had some connections. While there, they lived in a tiny apartment and Anosuke didn't return to school. Instead he followed his stepfather around as the man constantly went to speak to other people and other people came to speak to him, Anosuke having no idea what was being discussed each time. His stepfather ended being gone often and Anosuke would have to fend for himself. He kept himself busy by spending most of his time working out and helped stave off loneliness by talking to himself.
At seventeen, Anosuke's stepfather started introducing Anosuke to the people he was interacting with. They told Anosuke that they had some good work opportunities for him and his stepfather said he was trustworthy. Not wanting to disappoint anyone, Anosuke did what was asked of him and he unwittingly became a member of the yakuza with his job being to threaten those who didn't comply with the yakuza's demands. Anosuke continued this work for years, eventually gaining more trust and therefore independence from his stepfather.
After a scare with the police, Anosuke and his stepfather moved over to Fubuki City and returned to their work. Living in the home of Endō Enterprises, the pair eventually took on a job to threaten the company CEO, Mikado Endō. However, shortly after entering the building, Anosuke's stepfather was caught by the head of security, Seiji Kanajo, and arrested. Despite being spotted by Seiji, Anosuke fled and was never caught.
Anosuke watched his stepfather's trial and over the course of the next several weeks, Anosuke learned the truth of everything the man was hiding from him. His stepfather was a long-time member of the yakuza and was wanted for the murder of Anosuke's mother and his own kidnapping. He was also suspected in being involved in several other murders as well as the yakuza's conspiracy to take down Endō Enterprises. The man never revealed where Anosuke was and even implied he killed Anosuke years ago, probably to make sure the police never bothered to look for him.
With the trial over and Anosuke's stepfather put away for life, Anosuke left the yakuza. He searched for a new place to stay and a real job, eventually finding work at a bar that let him live down in the basement in exchange for a third of his pay. Despite all the freedom he now had, Anosuke still felt lost.
At twenty-five, Anosuke was told by his boss to throw out all the items in the bar's lost and found box. Doing as he was ordered, Anosuke took the box to the dumpster and started throwing out the items one by one. He found a nice looking pair of sunglasses in the box and decided there was no harm in keeping them. When he returned inside the bar after everyone left, Anosuke encountered what looked like a drunk man still at the bar. Anosuke tried to escort the man out and noticed a chain stuck to the man's chest. The man apologized and floated out of the bar, much to Anosuke's shock.
Plot[]
Welcome to Fubuki City Arc[]
When Cynthia brings Yorito Endō to Eden Treasures to meet The Guard, Anosuke is present alongside Bia, Nichiya, and Shuya.
Mother Arc[]
Upon learning that Mikado Endō has died, along with the rest of The Guard, Anosuke is present in The Guard's broadcast across all of Fubuki City's networks that they will be taking over the city for everyone's own good.
The Guard Arc[]
Along with the rest of The Guard, Anosuke moves into the second floor of Eden Treasures after they become wanted criminals. He shares a room with Seiji. When Nichiya calls Anosuke into his and Shuya's room to ask for a favor, Anosuke complies until being told that Nichiya wants Anosuke to push him out the window. Bia then comes in and yells at Nichiya for being so loud, prompting Anosuke to leave the room so he can get away from the situation.
Anosuke later gets an angry phone call from his boss informing him that the man saw the news announcement and Anosuke has been fired and kicked out of the bar's basement. He arrives there that night to retrieve his belongings. While there he orders a drink at the bar and has a chat with the woman sitting beside him, who turns out to be Mona Reizei.
When it's discovered that Cynthia has been arrested, Seiji seems to give up so Shuya steps up in his place and states they're going to save her. Nichiya snaps and decides that's going too far for him. After being egged on by Shuya, Nichiya calls them all crazy and leaves. Only Anosuke seems hurt by his words.
Anosuke and Bia arrive at the police station first. Anosuke is stopped by Ristu Mujin and they have a brief scuffle before Anosuke finds out Seiji actually came along after all. He chooses to flee from Ritsu to regroup with Seiji, but Ritsu chases after him. He protects Seiji from Mona's attack, allowing Seiji a chance to escape and he follows after. Kotsuru Kira pursues him, cornering Anosuke and forcing him into a fight. Anosuke ultimately loses the fight and Kotsuru confiscates his RVC. The chaos caused by the Hollows Shuya released gives Anosuke a chance to escape and he disappears from the area with Seiji.
Tsuneo's Decision Arc[]
Anosuke and Seiji eventually return to Eden Treasures, hoping someone else from The Guard may be there. Finding themselves alone on the second floor, they are at a loss for what to do. In the evening, they are surprised to see Nichiya come into the room.

Equipment[]
Reishi Visualization Charm: Created by Kisuke Urahara and still in a prototype stage, this device allows anyone in possession of it to become spiritually aware and be able to see Pluses, Hollows, and Soul Reapers. However, it does not allow the owner to detect spiritual pressure. Since it is still a prototype, it does not actually kill Hollows, but simply destabilizes their bodies so they are turned to pure Reishi and then reform later. It takes the form of a pair of sunglasses that can detach in the middle. Its weapon form is that of a pair of gauntlets. Anosuke eventually had it taken from him by Kotsuru.
Powers & Abilities[]
Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant: Having spent a long time training and exercising, Anosuke is skilled enough in combat to be a formidable foe. He is feared by both victims of the yakuza and unruly bar patrons. He can also handle combat against a Soul Reaper wielding a Zanpakutō and many Hollows.

- Anosuke is voiced by Mark Ishii in Japanese and Griffin Puatu in English.
- In Japanese, Anosuke refers to himself as “ore”. He is fluent in Tagalog and sometimes uses words from it mixed in with his Japanese, primarily when talking to himself. He speaks with a much more subdued Hokkaido dialect than those around him.
- Anosuke is represented in a tarot deck by The Hanged Man, which he shares with Izumo Kira.
