Amenominaka (天之御中, "Heavenly Ancestral Heart") is the source of all existence. All things began with Amenominaka, as it was the first god to come into being on its own when the primordial darkness had been shattered by the movements of yin and yang. Similar to the Soul King, it appears that Amenominaka exists in crystalline form in some faraway dimension that is recognized in mythology as the seven stars.

Overview[]

Aspects of Amenominaka[]

Nigimitama[]

Amenominakanushi (天之御中主神, "Heavenly Ancestral God of the Originating Heart of the Universe") is the physical form taken by the existence known as Amenominaka. In the same vein of understanding as other deities, one may call this the Nigimitama self of Amenominaka.

Sakimitama[]

Takamimusuhi (高御産巣日神, "High Creator")

Kushimitama[]

Kamimusuhi (神産巣日神, "Divine Creator")

Aramitama[]

"A dark force that existed before the universe, reigning alone in absolute darkness and control."
—An account of Amatsumikaboshi.

Amatsumikaboshi (天津甕星, "August Star of Heaven") is the manifestation of the singular force of Primordial Darkness that had existed long before the creation of the Soul Society and all of existence in its entirety. It is said to have been a force of pure dominance that ruled in solitary darkness before its reign had been brought to an end by the movements of Yin and Yang, resulting in its "supposed destruction". While it appears to not have any specific gender, it is commonly referred to as a "him". He is renowned as the Tokoyami no Sumeragi (常闇ノ皇, "Emperor of Everlasting Darkness") by the L'Obscurité, whom of which are all subsequently awaiting his return, somehow factoring into the plans of Kurama Kawahiru, and later, Senzui Kururugi.

What some have not realized, however, is that the true nature of Amatsumikaboshi is that it is the opposing side of Amenominakanushi. The two ancestral deities are two sides of the same coin; creation and destruction, order and chaos, the beginning and the end. Using the same understanding of standard deities, it can be said that Amatsumikaboshi is the Aramitama side to Amenominaka's Nigimitama self, Amenominakanushi.
